Creative Director - Video Campaigns - Apple - Santa Clara Valley, California
Job description
An experienced creative thinker who has lead responsibility for delivering innovative and compelling video solutions that meet requirements outlined in Apple’s creative briefs. Responsible for planning and executing projects by overseeing internal creative staff, outside directors, production staff and post production with occasional hands-on roles fulfilled to ensure delivery of the best possible work.
Responsible for leading the successful creation and production of film, video and/or motion graphic solutions, following creative collaboration with the group creative director, creative writer partners, senior producers and product manager. Plans and directs all aspects of assigned projects and serves as an integral member of the creative team.
Has a strong knowledge of and proven experience in the creative development process. Consistently delivers superior video solutions. Effectively scales solutions in accordance with project constraints and parameters.
Manages staff and their professional development. Including; provides creative critique, conducts performance appraisals, recommends and makes salary adjustments. Regularly reviews the work of direct reports and serves as a role model and mentor in developing their growth within the team.
Accountable for the work being on target and ensuring it matches Apple business direction. Takes an active role in understanding and shaping the big picture as it relates to Apple’s place in the world.
Key Qualifications
Minimum or Most Typical Requirements, Knowledge or Experience
A minimum of 10-12 years relevant [preferably agency] experience, including a minimum of 5 years management experience with increasing responsibility.
Deep subject matter expertise in the particular function being managed
Experience in delivering film and video across Keynote events, the web, on device, retail environments and television.
Solid design expertise in developing creative solutions in a variety of campaigns, across a broad range of problems and deliverables , including advertising, graphic design, Corporate ID, collateral, and interactive. Good typographical experience essential.
In depth knowledge of all steps required in the creative development process, including effectively and efficiently staffing projects, providing clear communication and creative direction, giving timely and helpful feedback to improve creative solutions. Produce all work cost effectively and on schedule.
A sound technical understanding that will enable the smooth progress of a variety of projects from concept to delivery. Including but not limited to, video compression, green-screen shooting, frame rates and pixel aspect ratio.
Proven Skills and Abilities
Expert ability to develop well-conceived innovative creative work that implements a brand strategy.
Significant experience with, film and video projects utilizing innovative ideas-led techniques and demonstrating a wide range of skills behind the camera.
Ability to effectively lead and manage internal creative staff members, vendors, and freelancers. Nurturing their growth and providing appropriate guidance and mentorship.
Proven project management skills, especially in planning, staffing and directing multiple complex, long-term creative projects that deliver the highest caliber work on time.
Excellent conceptual and problem solving skills.
Excellent design skills accompanied by the ability to guide and evaluate, and if necessary, redirect creative development.
Exemplary experience in art directing photo and film shoots. From creative concept to final deliverable
Ability to communicate effectively with creative and project management staff, engendering leadership, trust and respect.
Expert presentation skills that foster and develop existing and new relationships
Excellent written and oral skills.

Description
Accountable for successful execution of creative and art direction on assigned projects, by leading internal creative staff, freelancers, and directors, DPs and designers as needed and by utilizing hands-on skills.
Executes high quality design work on assigned projects, primarily for film and video but on occasion in a variety of media. Regularly reviews creative work with the Group Director and Cross Functional Creative Directors to get feedback on direction, and to ensure the work is aligned with other activities within Apple’s Graphic Design group.
Fully accountable for monitoring personal and creative team’s progress against schedules on assigned projects.
Relied upon to conceive of, design and lead the development of high quality creative work that pushes the Apple brand forward.
Conducts persuasive creative presentations to executive staff members within the company.
Education
