Vice President - Marketing - WGSN - New York


Job description
Rapid changes in the marketplace are driving exciting opportunities for WGSN Group. As a result we need a strong lead for our US team, based in New York to help us achieve our ambitious growth objectives in the region.

You should be a self-starter and quick to grasp commercial concepts and product strategies in order to make an immediate contribution. Experience of working in the fashion and retail industries or related disciplines would be a distinct advantage. Experience of delivering sales promotional activity and retention marketing in a B2B environment is essential.

The Marketing VP will have front-line responsibility for planning, executing and monitoring all marketing activity for WGSN Group’s North and South America subscription and advisory product portfolio.

You will lead a team of acquisition and retention focussed marketers in New York and Sao Paulo to deliver on lead generation and pursuit account campaigns and customer engagement/retention marketing to achieve new business and renewal revenue and volume targets. In addition, you will continue to focus on maintaining the brand’s position externally as a premium-positioned, market-leading service.

Furthermore, you will lead a team of business development associates, working hand-in-hand with the field sales team to deliver on sales targets.

You will play a key role in driving the product(s) value proposition in the marketplace. Working alongside senior content, sales and account management teams, you will develop robust product messaging and sales materials specific to the US and S. America markets. This will require a deep understanding of evolving WGSN customer needs and competitor analysis.

The position will report to the Global Marketing Director with accountability to the COO in the US. You will also be required to engage regularly and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders such as sales & content teams, product development, suppliers and customers.

Demonstrable experience in market and customer research projects, transforming the analysis into actionable sales intelligence
Excellent writing skills
Articulating value propositions
Strong analytical skills and commercial aptitude
Experience managing AND executing multi-channel direct marketing promotions: email, direct mail, events and digital (including SEM, SEO and social media).
