Research Director: Marketing Operations Strategies Service

SiriusDecisions is the world's leading source for business-to-business (b-to-b) sales and marketing best practice research and data. To further strengthen our expanding research team, we are now looking for a research director to join our rapidly growing Marketing Operations Strategies (MOS) service.
SiriusDecisions’ MOS service provides best practice research, benchmarking data, analytic models and thought leadership to leverage and enhance a b-to-b organization’s marketing operations function. It covers a broad range of critical marketing operations topics, including dashboards and reporting on marketing results and return-on-investment, budgeting and planning, data management for marketing, training and internal marketing enablement, analytics and market intelligence, and technology that supports the marketing function (e.g., marketing automation, reporting tools, marketing resource management, etc.).

Position Responsibilities

Research generation. Participates in the conceptualization and writing of key research deliverables, including research briefs, vendor profiles, webcasts and Core Strategy Reports.
Data gathering. Works with a wide variety of b-to-b organizations to gather key marketing data using existing benchmarking models.
Analyst work. Interacts directly with clients (in-person, telephone) to review research findings and discuss business-related problems/issues.
Service development. Works with our MOS analysts and business development team to grow MOS membership through sales and marketing activities with prospects.
Client-facing activities. Assists on ad hoc consulting projects as needed (e.g. benchmarking, go-to-market, assessments) as well as present at events (internal and external).
Desired Skills and Experience
Candidate Requirements
7-15 years of b-to-b marketing and marketing operations experience
Extremely strong writing and analytical skills
Experience in some or all of the following areas: Marketing operations function development and/or management; marketing budgeting and planning; data management; marketing technology selection, implementation and management; marketing skills development; marketing analysis, reporting and dashboard development; process development for marketing; deployment of process and technology on a global (or multi-region/country) basis.
B-to-b experience (we focus exclusively on the b-to-b space)
Customer-facing skills (strong presenter, comfortable with executive-level audience, able to identify issues/needs through effective questioning)
