OpenLink Financial has a unique opportunity for an experienced UX Design professional. This person will create compelling yet elegant system experiences that balance user-intent, business needs, and system performance within the constraints of a complex technical framework of existing transaction lifecycle management (TLM) products and solutions in the energy, financial services, and commercial & industrial sectors.
The Director of UX will lead and develop the user experience design function across the entire organization and play a strategic role in aligning the product road-map with customer needs. This will require working with senior leaders across product management, product development, marketing, and support.
The Director of UX will have hands-on experience in visual design, information architecture, and modern web technologies. It is mandatory that the applicant is creative, innovative, and has the ability to work with stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Longer-term, it is envisioned that this position will evolve into building and leading a team of UX professionals.
Responsibilities:
Play a key role in the enhancement, unification, and standardization of UX across all OpenLink products.
Collaborate with key product stakeholders to understand and support business goals for existing and new products.
Work closely with Product Managers and Senior Management to align the product development strategy with customer needs.
Translate business requirements, user needs, and input from cross-functional teams into design solutions.
Set design direction and establish UX guidelines for next generation of products.
Communicate a clear vision of best-in-class designs to senior executives and key client stakeholders.
Manage all aspects of UX design delivery.
Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years in UX design.
Effective communication skills and understanding of user experience best practices, information architecture, and interaction/visual designs.
Successful track record of leading teams in deployment of user-accepted software applications.
Creative and strategic thinking to develop innovative solutions to problems.
Hands-on experience in information architecture, use-case development, mock-ups, and highly-interactive prototypes.
Strong understanding of and experience with front-end technologies.
Ability to interact effectively with product and development teams at all levels.
Proven experience tying product goals with business goals.
Engaging presentation style with solid oral, written, and visual communication skills.
Ability to self-manage projects.
Experience coaching and mentoring others in UX design.
Experience with trading and risk management systems in commodity, energy, and/or financial markets preferred.
