Director - eCommerce Development - MoneyGram International - Minneapolis


Job Description

General Responsibilities:
We currently have an opening in our St. Louis Park office for a Director, eCommerce Development.  This role provides strategic and operational direction for planning, designing, implementing and maintaining the company's web and mobile software product platforms.  
 
Specific Accountabilities include;
Partner with the business teams to provide strategic direction on MoneyGram’s approach to web and mobile innovation including a comprehensive approach to how design consumer experience, tie platform strategies together, and leverage best practices across the enterprise.
Proactively lead the development and implementation of robust strategic and tactical web and mobile solutions for the business within the established time frame, quality standards, and corporate and financial parameters (roadmaps) defined with internal and external customers.
Partner with internal technology partners (system development, PMO, quality, release mgmt, security, and infrastructure) and Enterprise Technology Solutions colleagues on strategic planning and to ensure a comprehensive view of the technology road map.  Drive efficiency analysis and ongoing process improvement. 
Develop, lead, coach and mentor a diverse  and geographically dispersed team capable of delivering products and services using current, new and emerging technology.  Ensure that the team is cohesive and aligned towards the same goals.

Desired Skills & Experience

Skills and Experience Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related field, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience.
Project Management and Application Development Experience: Minimum 10+ years of increasingly responsible experience hands-on experience managing or overseeing the management of mid to large-scale information technology projects, including complex cross-functional and cross-organizational projects,  required.
5+ years experience managing large web-based applications and solutions using agile methodologies, required..
2+ years experience working with distributed development teams, including offshore partners.
5 + years experience as a Systems Development Manger or related experience required.
Demonstrated understanding of web application development best practices, including use case development, rapid prototyping, user experience and usability design
Building and Presenting Technology Roadmap: Strategic vision and keen insight into new technology trends and developments. Experience recommending new technology and processes that will improve customer service, reduce costs and/or provide a competitive advantage required.
Relationship Building: Proven effectiveness in building partnerships internally and externally. Ability to influence and manage expectations with senior leadership. Ability to execute and facilitate productive senior leadership meetings, required.
Change Leader: Strong results driving change in a complex matrix environment. Experience effectively leading an organization through change, required.
Budget: Experience managing and planning a complex multi-million dollar operating budget, required.
Execution:Proven ability to deliver robust technology solutions that meet business objectives in a timely fashion and on budget,required.
Team Builder: Demonstrated ability to build a strong, cohesive and collaborative management team. Minimum 10+ years experience and strong demonstrated ability to skillfully hire, develop, lead, motivate, performance manage, and coach a cross-section of technology professionals, in particular management staff. Ability to identify and execute a successful strategy around people development. Ability to develop and grow an organization that is skilled and motivated to deliver against commitments,required.
Technology Knowledge: Well-rounded and comprehensive knowledge of information technology including all aspects of the applications development life cycle, infrastructure hardware and software, financial services products. Strong understanding of how all technology areas interact with and affect each other, in order to obtain maximum cohesiveness, efficiency and productivity. Experience and demonstrated ability to evaluate current, new and emerging technology on an ongoing basis, required.
