Director - Compensation Analytics - Fidelity Investments - Boston


Job Description
Decision Support plays a critical role in supporting and influencing the design and execution of Fidelity's various compensation programs. As a member of the Decision Support team, the individual is expected to play a lead role in the analytics used to evaluate, modify and/or create all elements of compensation programs. Using subject matter expertise, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and influencing through compelling data graphics, the individual will work to develop information that will be reviewed with senior executives across the firm.

Primary Responsibilities

Work with the compensation databases to uncover information and insights to help senior executives make decisions on a wide array of compensation programs including annual bonus, merit, short-term and long-term incentive, as well as ongoing ad hoc information requests.
Identify trends, considerations, and unintended consequences that may impact management decisions.
Assist in the development of executive presentations and reference documents
Use complex data modeling techniques and translate data into high level, actionable information.
Assist in problem solving, solution development, decision making and strategic planning
Provide support for business cases and other financial analysis to help ensure that projects/alternatives with the highest impact are prioritized.
Work with cross functional groups (finance, legal, and business unit HR) to support program design and review.

Desired Skills & Experience

Education and Experience

College degree with 3-8 years of experience in compensation, finance, or related role.
Background in Financial Services industry preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

Outstanding data and financial analysis skills. Ability to analyze and present relevant business trends and insights.
Strong attention to detail and to ensuring that information is appropriately footnoted
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Quick learner and problem solver who can deal with ambiguity.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Access
Ability to interpret and frame questions from senior management.
Ability to provide candid and sometimes contrary views in a fact-based and constructive manner.
