This position is for a key leadership role in the Technology Business Operations team, with responsibility for ensuring consistent, efficient, and appropriate application of financial management, resource management, portfolio management, performance management, and communications disciplines across Sabre's technology groups. Specifically, the person taking on this role will be dedicated to ensuring the Senior Vice President leading up the Airline Solutions Development (ASD) group has the day-to-day operational support necessary for running his organization, and that common technology business operations services are fully leveraged in providing that support. In addition to the business operations responsibilities outlined above, the leader in this Director role will be responsible for helping the ASD SVP execute on the following for his group:
Define, communicate on, and infuse into all decision making processes the group's strategic focus and alignment with product strategy
Work with development leaders in the group to establish plans and oversee execution for key improvement efforts (e.g. application modernization, application operational availability)
Collect, analyze, and report on key performance measures at group and team levels, and regularly refresh the product inventory
Ensure product spend remains in alignment with the latest strategic product investment decisions
Track, report on, and control major categories of operational spend
Manage headcount in line with resource and financial plans
Create presentation material for customer, executive, leadership, and employee town hall meetings
Draft and distribute regular and event-driven e-mail communications (e.g. accomplishments, organizational changes)
Organize, look for opportunities to improve, and participate in regular staff and operational review meetings
Liaise with HR, Finance, Airline Solutions leadership, and Technology leadership to ensure alignment on operational items as well as longer-term strategic projects
The ideal candidate will have the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously mixing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands on the operations. He or she must also have the demonstrated ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between the Airline Solutions Development SVP and other constituencies, both internal and external. While the Business Operations & Planning Director will only have a few direct reports, he/she must exhibit the skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years related experience. 8 years prior supervisory experience preferred. Broad knowledge of Sabre's business and the travel and technology industries preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong management/leadership ability. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong negotiator, collaborator, and team player.
