Senior Director, Vertical Marketing Meru Networks - Sunnyvale


Job Description

We are looking for a senior-level Director of Vertical Marketing. You will be responsible for all aspects of vertical marketing and solutions for Meru Networks worldwide. This position is considered a key strategic asset and reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Position Meru’s products relative to customer and market requirements and to competitive offerings within specified vertical markets (healthcare/medical, education, retail, hospitality, etc.).
Segmentation analysis and strategy with respect to total available market and competitive analysis leading to fully stratified selected addressable market strategy for each vertical segment served.
Design and develop key tracking metrics that describe success criteria for all products during the entire lifecycle management process. This includes but is not limited to consideration, preference and demand data, share of market data, performance and value data such as total cost of ownership, performance ROI, price/value data, etc.
Work closely with Product Management and Product Marketing to influence pricing strategies, product road map strategies and product lifecycle management from a marketing perspective.
Work closely with Corporate Marketing and Product Marketing to manage all marketing aspects of every product announcement or launch within specified vertical segments.
Manage sustaining marketing activities/promotions for all products throughout the product lifecycle including but not limited to supporting collateral, competitive comps, casestudies, white papers, reference sales success stories, etc.
Manage key partner/technology relationships for each vertical specified.
Manage solutions development for each vertical segment served, and identify critical apps and devices for solutions integration with Meru products.
Manage industrial design/human factors/GUI specifications with product management.
Develop a product evangelism capability for vertical application.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications
Five to ten years in classic product marketing positions in a variety of categories (consumer, business-to-business, technology, services) with significant exposure to pricing strategy and product roadmapping functions.
Three years managing high complexity, high technology and/or high velocity product suites for a global company engaging in at least two major product announcements or launches a year.
Two to three years managing vertical segment marketing and demonstrated “hands-on” experience in addressing at least three vertical segments.
One to two years in a product management or brand management assignment.
Conversant in all aspects of classic marketing data management and business intelligence/business research functions.
Conversant in classic branding, marketing communications, PR and event marketing; experienced in using traditional,social and alternative media.
Conversant in product manufacturing and qualitymanagement processes (especially design for manufacturing processes).
Experienced in working within matrix organizations.
