Position Summary:
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure & Operations Director to lead our growing IT team, manage our production environment, and to support our platform’s exponential growth and usage by SupportSpace’s clients.
As the IT Infrastructure & Operation’s Director your primary responsibilities will be to create and implement SupportSpace’s future infrastructure strategies, deliver systems that focusing on scalability, performance, uptime and efficient incident and task management. You will also work directly with the product implementation teams (Development and QA) and other business process teams (Content services, Finance, Product Support).
This Director of IT Infrastructure & Operation’s position will report to the VP of Engineering & IT and is, preferably, located in SupportSpace’s South San Francisco, California Headquarters. However, the location may be flexible, but only for the right candidate and within a close proximity of a top notch,
reliable, 24/7 data center.
Desired Skills & Experience
Basic Skills and Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of senior director, director of production environment and/or Ops management experience in a large-scale, SaaS, cloud solutions, product company.
10+ years of general, IT experience with 3+ years of Unix systems administration experience.
Proven knowledge and skills in supporting uptime, high availability infrastructures.
Have a thorough knowledge and evaluations of data center operations and best practices.
Must have vast technical knowledge in open source components related to scalability, availability, security and globalization.
Must be programming proficient in web technologies, scripts and all other programming languages.
Must be an ultimate team player and is very hands-on, proactive, transparent and self-sufficient.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Systems Engineer or an equivalent area of study.
Familiarity with some or all of the following: Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Memcached, Oracle and database clustering, Openfire.
Experience of automation in virtual machine infrastructures: Xen, AMIs, VMware, etc.
