PR Manager/Director Andrew Freeman & Co - SoMa


Job Description


ANDREW FREEMAN & CO., based in downtown San Francisco, is a small full service boutique agency specializing in hospitality and restaurants. Our goals are to provide one-on-one consulting, build awareness and generate revenue for clients. The approach for each client is fresh, direct, creative and stylish. We are looking for an experienced PR professional who is also a great manager and leader to oversee the public relations team. In addition to account management, The Manager/Director of Public Relations will manage, support and grow our Account Executives and work closely with the team to develop strategic business expansion and support our clients’ needs.

Here’s the scoop:

The Basics
Minimum five years experience in public relations (agency work ideal)
Hospitality (hotel and/or restaurant) experience

Multi-tasker – Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at any given time

About the Job
Oversight of the Public Relations Department (with Agency President)
- Manage team of 3 -5
- Oversight of internship program
- Lead PR strategy for AF&Co. and clients
- Pinch-hit for Agency President and Account Supervisor, Marketing as needed
- Active community involvement—local SF and national professional/charitable organizations
- Represent AF&Co at community, civic and business/industry related functions and events (Union Square Association, CUESA, Golden Gate Restaurant Association, etc.)
New Business
- Resear chpotential clients
- Coordinate and attend new business pitch meetings
- Prepare proposals as needed.
Media Relations
- Create press campaigns and events (for agency andclients)
- Create strategic quarterly PR plans and executeaction steps accordingly
- Create press releases for targeted pitching andmonthly round ups
- Active results-oriented pitching
- Visibility in both local and national media scene – relationship building with key journalists ongoing
- Maintainan up to date media database
Client Relations
- Attend regular meetings
- Create follow-up notes and action plans as needed (supported by team)
- Contribute strategic guidance and vision to clients
- Manage team deliverables, timelines and action steps

Salary range and job title (Manager or Director) will be based on experience, accomplishments and skill. Compensation will include base salary and business development/performance bonuses. Full benefits package including medical,dental etc. plus 401 (k).
