The Amazon Seller Business is looking for a technical leader with experience working closely with business leaders to develop a roadmap and strategy that enables the expansion of the Seller Business worldwide.  Do you want to join a fast paced, innovative team who uses software, machine learning and statistical techniques to help grow Amazon’s 3P Seller business? If yes, then you may be a great fit to join the Amazon Sales Technology team - the core system that enables us to recruit, develop and manage the Seller business across categories and products on Amazon marketplaces worldwide.

We are looking for a smart, results-oriented Director to lead the development of the next generation of software that Amazon uses to identify, target, recruit, retain and develop Sellers on the Amazon Third Party platform.  This leader’s responsibilities will include owning and overseeing all aspects of product definition, technical specifications, research, development, user interface design, usability testing, testing, and deployment.   The successful candidate will be expected to think and act both strategically and tactically.  He or she will be customer centric, resourceful, team oriented, an effective communicator, and will have the ability to work independently under time constraints to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines.  This is a highly visible position that will interact across all Retail and Third Party categories and products at all levels of the Seller Business.  His/her team’s key responsibilities are:
•             Deliver a world class end-to-end product that controls all aspects of the Seller experience, from identifying what customers want to targeting of Sellers to management of the entire Seller lifecycle.
•             Manage and build a team of technical and non-technical software engineers and managers.
•             Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, validation and implementation.
•             Work cross-functionally with designers, software development engineers, and product managers.
•             Manage bottlenecks, balance business needs versus technical constraints, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and build a great Seller experience.

Desired Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications
•             10+ years of software development experience preferably with experience, building systems/tools for business systems.
•             7+ years of experience owning software development teams.
•             Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Business.
•             Experience building and leading product teams, scaling them to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong leader with excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with and influence all levels across Amazon
  • Both technically and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects across functional teams, including technical, engineering, marketing, design and merchandizing teams
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and feature concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and translate customer needs into business and product requirements
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results; Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen (strong bias for action);
  • Experience in successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment
