Job Description
Prerequisites
* Completed JD and admission to at least one State Bar required.
* Must have at least 8 years of legal experience as an attorney supporting the Americas (specifically, must have legal experience with dealings in the Latin American region).
* Prior working experience in both a law firm and a pharmaceutical company is strongly desired.
Position Summary
Celgene Corporation, a pharmaceutical company, is looking to hire an attorney with broad legal experience in the North, Central and South American regions to join the Celgene's legal department. Based at Summit, NJ, this position involves the opportunity to conduct a variety of legal work for Celgene relating to transactions, dispute prevention and resolution, compliance and other types of legal support with an emphasis in the Latin American region. Candidates must have contract negotiation and compliance experience and a proven ability to develop and implement legal strategies that support business and financial objectives within these geographies. Some overnight business travel will be required. Candidates should be admitted to practice before at least one US State Bar. Attorneys should have at least eight years of pharmaceutical law experience with a law firm or pharmaceutical company. Legal experience with dealings specifically in the Latin American region is required.
Desired Skills & Experience

* A comfort managing legal matters and supervising outside counsel relevant to the Latin America region required.
* Foreign language skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese are highly desirable.
* In-depth experience with commercial and corporate transactions and international/US legal compliance matters required.
* Must have ability to prioritize and multi-task, processing multiple transactions to satisfactory completion.
* Must be able to appropriately balance legal and business risks while complying with short turnaround cycles.
* Strong attention to detail and comfort with overnight business travel required.
