Job Description
The Global Practice Director (GPD) owns the professional services offering, growth and delivery methodology for the assigned technology. The GPD’s primary mission is to drive software usage by clearly defining the Practice strategy/vision, prioritizing service offerings, and working closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Support to ensure revenue, competitive positioning and customer satisfaction goals are met.
The GPD defines delivery methodology while project execution is a field responsibility. The GPD has overall accountability for achieving/exceeding key financial metrics including bookings, revenue, margin for the global practice. The role reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Global Services.
Grow the Business
Defines and communicates the Practice strategy and roadmap for the Production Management and Execution technologies.
Works cooperatively with Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Professional Services and Customer Support to drive business growth for assigned Practice which includes helping to develop new markets and customers.
Provides sales support to win key deals.
Develops and manages relationship with key accounts.
Monitors implementation of key projects to identify trends and common opportunities/challenges.
Manages and grows global profitability of the Practice.
Partners with Sales and Marketing to develop packaged solutions.
Develops, promotes and maintains the implementation of technology best practices as related to Sales tools, marketing material and Professional Services delivery processes in a worldwide operational environment.
Subject matter specialist with respect to the competition and key industry trends.
Reviews/signs-off on Practice related press releases.
Proposal Management and Delivery Methodology
Supports proposal development of key deals.
Reviews and approves all Practice proposals to ensure consistency and adherence to standards methodology.
Develops execution methodology based on internal/external best practices.
Partners with PO office to maintain proposal templates to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Responsible for continuous improvement of the templates and approval of any modifications to the template material for any proposal
Global Talent Strategy
Partners with regional management to define and manage global skill mix for the practice; including input into performance reviews, ranking and salary administration.
Optimizes resource utilization and deployment on a global basis.
Supports the regions to recruit and develop a strong Services Team.
Grows and retains key Practice skills/talent.
Works with the regional Services organization to develops training programs for new hires and existing staff.
Develops and maintains partnerships with third party delivery organizations
Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years process industry professional services experience.
Demonstrated success defining and implementing best-in-class software solution services.
Direct experience in the Production Management and Execution space.
Proven ability to influence cross-functionally without formal authority.
Must be able to travel approximately 30% of the time.
Education
BS in engineering or related degree. Advanced degree in an engineering discipline or MBA.
