Job Description:
The Allianz Life Application Development team is looking for a director to lead the Variable Annuity Application Development Team.
This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction in both strategy and day-to-day execution of IT products/services for Accenture Life Insurance Platform (ALIP).
They will brainstorm with the business on the design of variable annuity product offerings; and negotiates product scope with the business and Accenture to define solutions that are inexpensive to implement and meet the customer needs.
Development of relationships with ALIP leaders at other companies and share best practices in the design and use of ALIP will be important for this leader.
The position reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for Application Development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage an effective information systems delivery organization with appropriate skills, organization structure and direction to satisfy current and future client information needs. This includes: development of proper organization structure, selection of staff, management of performance, salary administration, career planning and budget management for a staff of 40 employees and 20 contractors.
• Collaborate with business partners to understand their product needs and create a one to three year IT plan for variable annuity development.
• Review variable annuity product designs to ensure they are appropriate to support on the ALIP platform and negotiate changes with the business as needed.
• Become a recognized leader in the ALIP user community and help influence Accenture to enhance their product to delight Allianz business partners.
• Drive ongoing process improvement to deliver increasing operational efficiency in all business partner processes including Enterprise Operations, Actuary and Allianz Investment Management.
• Facilitate the resolution of escalated vendor-related issues. Regularly reviewing Service Level Agreements to identify areas of improvement.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
• 4 year degree in engineering, technology or mathematics
Preferred Requirements
• 8-10 years of experience in variable annuities, managing people and teams, strong business acumen, and ability to influence decision-making process with senior leaders and technology solutionsPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• 11+ years preferred experience in variable annuities and technology
• Advanced degree in engineering, technology or mathematics
