This role will be a key member of the BlackRock Client Portfolio Solution Wealth team in the Americas. The CPS Wealth team is responsible for delivering BlackRock’s model portfolios to financial advisors, banks and other intermediaries in the US and Latin America. Driven by secular changes in the advisory industry, the Model Portfolio business is a major and fast growing initiative for BlackRock. Our objective is to empower advisors with high quality asset allocation solutions, market and portfolio commentaries, risk management and advisor education.

As the Model Investment Strategist, you will be expected to:
Articulate BlackRock model methodology into easy to understand messages
Explain the investment process
Present market views and portfolio commentary for a range of communication needs from a impactful high-level summary to technical detailed positions
Engage in weekly and monthly Portfolio Management discussions about portfolio positions, ask questions and serve as a “voice of the client” to the PMs
Develop and use investment analytics to support advisor messaging
Work with BlackRock Investment Institute and other external-facing BlackRock teams to deliver the most appropriate advisor content
Deliver the messages with confidence and presence

Advisor firm CIOs
Partner with and support the Lead Portfolio Manager in presenting their views
“Create a trend”: Partner with Distribution partners to design and drive a broad advisor investment education program
Build broad awareness and establish BlackRock as the leading thought leader and solution provider in the realm of retail investor portfolios
Increase confidence and loyalty of existing model users
Support OCIO services for strategic partners
Oversee investment aspects of OCIO services for a small group of strategic advisor firm partners
Qualifications / Skills
BA/BS required. Advanced Degree / CFA / CAIA / CFP, is strongly preferred
A minimum of 10 years of investment experience
Strong technical skills are a must; background in macroeconomics, capital markets, equity or fixed income research, statistics, econometrics or other technical disciplines desired
Excellent understanding of financial markets and drivers of valuation and returns on major asset classes. Multi-asset team experience is a plus.
Excellent written communication skills with experience of writing about markets and investment concepts for retail audience
Excellent presentation skills and executive presence. Must demonstrate the ability to deliver impactful, technical and influential commentaries
Media and large audience presentation experience is strongly preferred
Direct experience in the wealth management industry with strong understanding of financial advisors is preferred
Potential and willingness to lead a team over time
Series 7 and 63 required. Series 24 is required within 12 months of hiring
Prior experience with Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct and other types of financial
