The Strategy team at Brand Expedia Group is looking for an experienced strategy director to identify strategic growth opportunities, lead incubation of initiatives, and provide perspectives and recommendations for key areas of our business. You have a strategic mindset and should be well versed in strategic business models and approaches, and should have an analytical background. You will develop a detailed understanding of the OTA business including technology, supply-demand mechanisms and operations along with commercials, analytics, supply and marketing. The position will be expected to ably represent Expedia in front of partners for progressing new business ideas and initiatives.
You will be a self-starter, handle multiple tasks at a time, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment. You will have strong communications skills and work with people across levels in the organization spanning the globe, including senior leadership. The role will lead projects and be the single point of contact for selected projects.Responsibilities:

Develop and identify strategic opportunities to grow the BEXG business by providing perspective and recommendations for supply-demand acceleration to drive global growth.
Critical projects may include refining our multi-brand approach, our global workforce optimization, our investment prioritization framework etc.
Lead / Support portfolio optimization by building a framework that evaluates and compares return on investment for a range of different initiatives. Employ extensive and persuasive communications
Support Supply-Demand Alignment and incubate initiatives respectively.
Provide the Brand Expedia consumer perspective on key initiatives, and collaborate with the Product, Engineering and Supply teams to represent the customer
Contribute to the global employee effectiveness in cooperation with HR team and cross-functions across Expedia.
Develop point of view on long-term growth interrogatives and apply strategic models as appropriate.
Collaborate across the BEXG strategy team, and help peers and colleagues win by offering perspectives and meaningfully questioning the status quo.
Partner with analytics to develop insights backing up recommendation and direction.
Work with the Product and Technology team as appropriate in delivering the above.

Experience in applying strategic models to real world examples
Proven record independently defining and executing key analyses and developing specific solutions to increase revenue and customer conversion
A phenomenal teammate with strong inter-personal skills and who can collaborate with across the organization for optimal outcome as well as communication with senior managers and executives.
Experience crafting frameworks to assess new business opportunities
Has a track record of aligning activities with business strategies and measuring impact on business results.
Keen business sense, focus, ability to see the 'big picture' and to prioritize effectively.
Experience in travel and international markets preferred, but not required.
8+ years of experience in an e-commerce or consulting environment in a Business Intelligence, or Strategy role
Consulting background strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience leading multiple projects at a time and driving them to completion
Experienced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and proven experience in modelling, analysis, research and presentation creation. In particular ability to make something complex seem simple.
Working knowledge of various data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Business Objects or similar business intelligence tools.)
