Vimeo is looking for a seasoned PR professional to head up communications. This role will be responsible for driving communications strategies that amplify Vimeo’s unique product and brand positioning.
A strategic mindset with the ability to plan six months out, along with strong leadership, writing and relationship-building skills are absolute musts. You should also possess the ability to collaborate with and lead a room of business and product executives. The Director will oversee at least one direct report, while also working closely with the CEO, CMO, and Brand Marketing to devise long term PR needs.
Provide high-level strategic communications support to the CEO, CMO and the Vimeo leadership team
Drive and execute communications strategies and messaging that support Vimeo’s business goals to key audiences
Support key executives with media interviews and speaking engagements
Write press materials, including messaging documents, press releases, briefing sheets and provide campaign wrap-up reports for announcements
Work closely with multiple product and engineering leads to search out the best stories in the company and identify opportunities to tell them
Foster and build relationships with top tier reporters/influencers, conferences and outlets; this role demands active engagement with media and influencers
Manage departmental budget and vendor relationships
Partner with IAC Corporate Communications to ensure consistencies and maximize results
Skills and knowledge you should possess:
BA/BS degree required
Minimum of 8+ years of PR experience – consumer / product / tech industry strongly preferred
Strategic thinker with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Creative, positive, and high-energy individual with an ability to execute flawlessly
Highly articulate, crystal clear verbal and written communication skills, with a passion for delivering complex messages in simple, understandable ways
Insane attention to detail
Self-starter able to prioritize and manage multiple projects on different timelines
Deep relationships with business, tech and trade media
Experience handling multiple projects and stakeholders
