We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented pharmacologist to lead the Translational Sciences team within CDoT . Ideally you will have extensive industrial experience in small molecule drug discovery, having directed programs from early stage Target and Hit Identification through Lead Optimization, and possibly beyond. You will have a successful track record in leading multidisciplinary teams to advance challenging drug discovery projects, and will have deep expertise in cellular and/or in vivo pharmacology. You will partner with faculty members and their labs to identify novel therapeutic targets , as well as direct cellular and in vivo assay development and screening activities to drive therapeutic programs. Reporting to the CDoT Director, and in partnership with CDoT C hemistry and Discovery Sciences leadership, you will play a key role in directing the overall strategy and success of therapeutics at the Broad Institute.
Requirements

The qualified candidate will have a demonstrated record of leading cellular/ in vivo pharmacology teams to advance leads and candidate drugs. This should include:
Excellent management skills, including the ability to set high but reachable goals, define priorities, manage individual performance, and infuse the team with a sense of purpose and urgency.
Demonstrated ability to implement processes necessary to accomplish objectives, knows how to organize people and activities and how to measure progress.
Previous industry experience with a record of effective project leadership and a strong understanding of the drug development process from lead identification through clinical trials.
Experience in the design and execution of efficacy, pharmacokinetic, mechanism of action studies, and preclinical biomarker discovery and development.
A track record of innovation and development and use of new research methods and approaches.
A strong publication record and experience in giving presentations at scientific conferences.
Experience in preparing documents and reports for internal governance committees and regulatory agencies, including INDs , is preferred .
Ability to initiate and drive external collaborations and engage key opinion leaders.
Strong interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented, matrix environment, and the ability to work through conflicts.
Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to adapt to and effectively manage changes in a fast paced and dynamic environment; ability to act and perform with key information
A passion for drug discovery and sense of urgency to find new medicines to benefit patients.
