Director Partner Technology Microsoft Redmond

The Partner Technology Manager (PTM) is a key leadership role within Microsoft’s partner engagement strategy as part of One Commercial Partner Organization.

· The goal is to lead Strategic Alliance partner technology strategy, technical recruitment and engagement across the Microsoft Build-With Lifecycle and opportunity specific technology engagements for the Channel Development partners

· The PTM manages teams of technical strategists (PTS) who will help secure partner’s technical commitment to build practices and engage through the Microsoft Partner Journey Maps.

· Further, the role will need to provide leadership to develop required solutions/practices and build partner capacity by working with the Strategic Alliance managed partner portfolio through the Microsoft Build-With lifecycle, from recruit to grow phases.
The PTM will work across Microsoft and the Partner organization to ensure business goals are aligned to partner offerings.

· The PTM is well known in the partner ecosystem and builds a network of mutually beneficial business relationships within the partner ecosystem by working closely with partner senior technical and business leadership.

· The PTM represents Microsoft to the channel, communicates our tech strategy, sells our vision and brings partners along in the digital transformation journey.

· The PTM will need to develop and manage a high performance team that will support enablement and business growth. The outcome will be to drive long-term revenue, cloud consumption and digital transformation through a set of practices leading to workload/industry based co-sell.

· The PTM will drive team to develop world wide view of partner technical capability, practices, solutions and operations. This information will be analysed to provide strategic insight for the partnership to drive performance, global expansion and growth plans.



Responsibilities
Partner Tech Engagement:

· Lead the partner tech engagement across the Microsoft Build-With lifecycle through a team of Partner Technology Specialists (PTS)

· Partner portfolio includes Channel Partners (CD) managed as Strategic Alliance partners

· Provide leadership to support partner recruitment, partner portfolio optimization, capacity and capability to grow the business in alignment with global partner priorities and strategy.

· Co-own the partner engagement plan across the Microsoft Build–With lifecycle, provide leadership to manage overall partner portfolio optimization, capacity and capability. Participate in the business/sales planning and execution process across the team

Drive the collaboration with partners at the C-level to create programs that scale the technical capacity of partners. Tracks the impact of these programs. Results are demonstrated by the successful implementation of partner technical capacity programs, and attainment of partner success metrics
Team Leadership:

· Recruit, retain and manage a world class high performance team. Oversee and be responsible for team commitments and strive for success.

· Be a team leader who sets aspirational goals and drives team towards success while ensuring effective teaming and coordination between roles across teams to win business and remove blockers.



Business Orchestration:

· Be a key partner to the PDM Manager(s) managing the Channel Development and MSP partners in planning and orchestrating across roles.

· Support the all up Microsoft Build –With plan and influence overall partner portfolio optimization, capacity and capability.

· Drive One Microsoft orchestration across teams (including inside partner engagement, sales, channel management) to secure partner commitment to MS platform and services.

· Lead the Channel Development and MSP PTS team to drive practices growth and solutuions offering to market with the Channel Development and MSP partners

· Secure, coordinate, manage resources and programs to enable partner practice growth. Influence subsidiary/area leadership to align strategy & resources to help team achieve targets.

· Grow the managed partner portfolio by driving and being accountable for performance as measured by consumption, usage, and adoption.

· Drive team to capture/ gather, analyse, assess and draw strategic insight from the global operations of the partners. Use this information with the partners to improve performance, drive global expansion and provide guidance on strategic growth areas. Use all up business perspective to provide channel insight to engineering, BG and Sales organisations.


Qualifications
Experiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:

· Deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, emerging computing trends and their impact on customer opportunities.

· 10+ years of experience in partner technical management, technology solutions, practice development, partner channel development, people management in the technology industry

· Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with partner leadership and building cloud consumption share in large or strategic accounts.

· Extensive experience managing people and virtual teams across functions and geographies:

Inclusive and collaborative – driving teamwork, diversity and cross-team alignment
Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills
Able to motivate team and manage complex people dynamics
· Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small technical audiences.

· Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners.

Technical BS degree, Computer Science or Math background required. MS in related fields desirable.
