Position Description:
Manage and help source optimal “content” of an Advancement Academy:
Speakers
Meetings
Symposiums/forums
Workshops
Webinars
Events broadcast to other Academies and via the web
After hours group meetings
Work with local industry to define industry standards
Advise local firms on best approaches to “going digital”
Visit key accounts at other venues
Ensure that events held in your designated Academy location, or virtually via webinars or broadcasts, are staged professionally
Minimum of 5 years experience in the infrastructure industries (preference given to Rail, Road, Tunnels, Bridges, Process, and Multi-purpose Buildings)
Degree in one of the infrastructure disciplines (preference given to advanced Degree)
Worked on at least one major projects > $100mio
Developed and deployed a BIM strategy for a project or within an account
Active member of local “Professional Institutions” (Rail, road, civil engineering, architects etc)
Active in supporting the development of local or national standards for industry (government, BuildingSMART, etc.)
Worked in a contractor, consultant, or design firm for minimum of 5 years experience
Skills:
Facilitator - there will be opposing thoughts, and the ability to facilitate between client and supply chain is important.
Presenter – able to present in front of audiences from 1 to 1000 and from CEO downward.
Thought Leader – able to provide leadership in new and emerging areas in the digital arena with application to the infrastructure industries.
Industry focused – Industry experience, rather than technology experience.
Well known/ respected within the industry – Potentially having run, or assisted with running, relevant industry groups.
Conduct workshops – at all levels from strategy, to tactical, to technology
Analyst – the ability to analyse attendees’ requirements and issues during the session, and offer strategies and resolutions.
Materials creator (written documents, presentations, articles, videos) – not necessarily highly polished, but convening a message in a strong yet simple manner.
Digital Strategy Knowledge – understand the current digital strategy of the country where the Academy is located.
Communicator – help to shape and communicate the client’s vision
Chairman – ability to impartially chair industry sessions
Empathy – able to understand the issues facing the client organisations
Network –have an existing industry network of connections that can be utilised for in-demand guest speakers etc.
