The XELJANZ Rheumatology JAK leadership Director will report to the Senior Director, Xeljanz Rheumatology Global Commercial Team Lead and become a part of the Global Rheumatology team of 6 directors whose roles are aligned according to our strategic priorities; activating the patient; driving XELJANZ as first choice advanced therapy and building our JAK scientific leadership.
This role is focused on building XELJANZ JAK scientific leadership across our rheumatology indications (RA, PsA and AS). In this critical role, the successful candidate will serve as the SpA Program Team Lead including Psoriatic Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. They will work closely with their cross functional colleagues to ensure that we maximize XELJANZ's opportunity in psoriatic arthritis as well as driving the P3 ankylosing spondylitis program including launch readiness.
They will also be responsible for leading our JAK competitive readiness ensuring that we have a strong and aligned global position on how XELJANZ will win in the rapidly emerging JAK class. This will require forward thinking that considers the strategic approach and market development needed across our in-line and pipeline assets.
In this role you will need to work closely with the US, IDM and EM commercial & medical teams plus other global functional partners. As well as being able to demonstrate head, heart and guts leadership through strategic thinking, influence of others (without authority), careful planning and execution that motivates I&I colleagues' implementation at a regional level.\
Role Responsibilities
The core and primary focus of this role is to build XELJANZ JAK scientific leadership in rheumatology and to lead the PsA & AS program teams. Objectives relating to this focus include:
Leading lifecycle initiatives including
AS Program Team lead
XR: RA & PsA strategy in IDM and other regions
Ensuring JAK competitive readiness
Understanding RX drivers and evolving XELJANZ positioning across Rheum indications
Developing mid-long term strategy that considers emerging JAKs as well as I&I's kinase pipeline
Qualifications
Commercial Acumen
Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry experience within marketing, strategy, new product launch or business development.
Global or Regional/Country Marketing experience with a successful track record of delivering commercial growth and driving performance in a cross functional environment.
Deep understanding of running congresses, symposia and ad boards. Ability to collaborate closely with Medical and able to develop a deep understanding of clinical and real-world data
Develop life cycle strategies and input to annual Strat Plan and Op Plan
Willingness to challenge the status-quo, strong communication skills, confidence & acumen working in diverse teams
Demonstrated strong analytical skills including capabilities for uncovering deep customer insights/themes and translating them into crisp actionable strategic plans.
Demonstrated ability to influence others (without authority) to adopt strategic direction or invest in your tactical initiative
Experience representing opportunities and brand plans to senior leadership.
Prior experience in Inflammation & Immunology is preferred, but not required.
BA/BS - degree required. Advance degree preferred.
