Director - Global Brand Team - InterMune - San Francisco


Job description
The Director, Global Brand Team will report to the Vice President, Global Marketing. He/she will have responsibility for driving the agenda of the Global Brand Team for Esbriet. The Global Brand Team is a cross-functional and cross-regional team responsible for maximizing the value of the brand across diseases and geographies.

Specifically, the Director, Global Brand Team will be responsible for the items listed below, but not limited to them:

Lead assessments and work-streams that serve to understand threats and opportunities to the brand, with an eye towards developing a plan of action
Drive the implementation of various plans of actions across functions and geographies
Provide collaborative business leadership to all geographies and allied functions, including but not limited to Manufacturing, R&D, Medical Affairs, Finance, etc.
Maintain industry awareness regarding market trends, competition, product acceptance, and new product releases
Play a critical role in product lifecycle management and geographic expansion
Help develop a highly performing Global Brand Team
Be a liaison to key distribution partners and companies who are in IPF space, including fostering a health relationship and exchanging best practices and marketing and medical materials

Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be a highly versatile cross-functional leader that includes global launches and commercialization of innovative, first-in-class specialty pharmaceutical products. The Director, Global Brand Team will have a record of strong leadership and effectiveness, as demonstrated by a history of driving superior product performance on a global basis. Candidates with a science or medical background are preferred.

Specific qualifications include:

Demonstrated experience in the conception, development and execution of marketing and/or medical strategies for highly specialized products in the U.S. and abroad.
Must be able to maximize all market research data and communicate its results and application.
Must be able to quickly and thoroughly understand scientific publications, and apply them to develop plans of actions.
Demonstrated expertise in working with diverse customer segments – including physician, payer, and consumer.
Must have strong collaborative skills, the ability to work in a global, matrix organization and experience working in a partnership environment.
Strategic “out of the box” thinker who will challenge the status quo to improve product deliverables.
Strong executive presence; able to effectively represent the Company internally and externally.
Entrepreneurial, decisive, possesses a sense of urgency with the ability and strong desire to “make things happen.”
Excellent organizational and influencing skills.
Strong customer orientation; a passion for science based brands that can dramatically improve patients’ lives.
5+ years of experience in the biopharma industry
