Director Last Mile Solutions Flex Memphis

The Director, Last Mile Solutions will be based out of Memphis, Tennessee. The Director, Last Mile Solutions will be responsible for providing leadership in developing global services offerings focused on the last mile in logistics which add value to our existing suite of supply chain solutions. This person will also provide innovative compelling customer solutions which differentiate Flex from the competition. In addition, he/she will be responsible for supporting existing and new Business Development Leads in their planning and implementation of customer B2C/e-commerce penetration strategies.
Flex is developing its service offering alongside three core services of eCommerce, Last Mile, Logistics and Retail Returns. The business is particularly focused on candidates competent in one or more of the core services with a background in e-commerce, high-tech logistics, and retail as well as related services. The aim is to build a best in class solutions team that provides innovative compelling customer solutions which differentiate Flex from the competition. We are looking for someone who demonstrates: Intense collaboration Passionate customer focus Thoughtful, fast, disciplined execution Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement Relentless drive to win Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do… Working with the Product Teams, Craft winning innovative customer-specific solutions with speed and efficiency Propose and/or design Customer technical solutions, which include creating demos and proofs of concept with Innovative Solutions. Extensive Knowledgeable in B2C, B2B, Retail Routing, Forward supply chain & Warehouse Distribution solutions. Reverse Logistics is a plus Provide expertise on current e-commerce, B2C, B2B industry best practices Develops capacity/solution strategies and relationships that enable the service delivery model Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other team members and participate in customer facing meetings articulating the Flex value Leads and works alongside Product SMEs and Business Development Managers to gather information from existing and potential customers Provide consistent feedback from the market to Product Management and Development teams and coordinate gaps between product functionality and customer requirements Process model the Customer specific solution, understanding flows, volumes, etc.; interface with other areas of Flex to obtain the data required. Ensure that all technical and business requirements of the customer/prospect are clearly understood, and be able to articulate how our solutions can meet them High level of Project Management experience and Financial acumen to ensure knowledge and Best Practice transfer throughout the organization Establish a world class Sales Architect practice to help GSS attain its objectives Solve customers' business issues with GSS technology, brainstorming with cross-functional teams on technical propositions to enhance customer value add. Play a lead role in devising strategies to promote Flex Shaping propositions to meet client requirements working alongside Regional VP’s, Global Account Management and Business Development team. Understands the customer’s organization, products, market position, goals and objectives, sourcing strategy, suppliers, manufacturing locations, competition and future directions Translates customer requirements into an executable operational model including modeling and analysis of customer data and creation of viable solutions Develops solution design capabilities that optimize our offerings to customers and continues to identify and develop new/complementary/adjacent capabilities and business opportunities Develops a service delivery platform that enables incubation of new ideas and concepts to bring to market Builds on current supplier relationships to create a comprehensive portfolio of transportation services that drive efficiency and quality of service Here is some of what you’ll need (required)… A Bachelor’s degree in, supply chain logistics, Transportation, Preferred, also engineering, sciences or business; MBA is preferred. Typically requires 5-10+ years of progressively advancing in related field of management and/or business solution and Quote development experience. Process engineering and Supply Chain design experience and Operations or Engineering management, specific to Forward Logistics services (5 – 10 yrs.) Knowledge of the technology that supports e-commerce supply chain and transportation management systems Operational/functional understanding of e-commerce, Last Mile, B2C processes from conversion to fulfilment to customer service e-commerce, Last Mile, B2C experience in developing strategies for a direct-to-consumer business Experience working with major logistics firms regionally/globally, Electronic ODM/OEM’s and consultancy firms, Forward distribution services, and Repair/Returns is a plus Good technical writing skills Professional services experience working with clients on solution design Finance knowledge and market research experience is a plus Strong analytical capabilities, including experience handling large and complex data sets as well as creating forecasts, reports and financial modelling. Possesses strong communication and influencing skills with varying levels and departments internally (IT, business peers and senior management) Ability to think strategically and problem solve create new strategies, build business cases, and gain stakeholder buy-in Cross-functional project management and process mapping experience Up to 50% global travel Here are a few of our preferred experiences… Supply Chain design experience, Logistics Operations or Engineering management (P&L management) with process engineering specific to forward and reverse logistics services (5 -10yrs+) Global Account Management background and/or Account executive sponsor (2yrs)
