As Director of Talent Acquisition, you will have a team of 10 direct reports (on-site and remote) with a mix of Managers, Recruiters, Sourcers and Coordinators. Talent Acquisition strives to support and enable the business by designing and executing a recruiting strategy to identify top talent in the market, as well as partnering with cross functional departments within the company.
Akamai is searching for a talented leader to head our Asia Pacific Japan and India recruiting functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for aligning our hiring initiatives across all divisions within the region and then planning, communicating & delivering the best professional talent on a timely basis.


Responsibilities

Partner with divisional executives and their management team to identify regional talent acquisition needs. Develop strategic talent acquisition plan and assess operational capabilities to ensure attainment of plan goals. Determine metric-based goals and objectives for strategic process improvements across all Divisions in APJ and India.
Design and drive the adoption of consistent recruiting, interviewing and hiring practices that support a highly positive candidate experience and recruiter/hiring manager efficiencies to meet talent acquisition objectives and metrics.
Reporting on relevant recruitment metrics to assess Talent Acquisition delivery capability and use information to identify trends and make ongoing process improvements aligned with business objectives.
In partnership with functional leaders and the HRBP leader develop a strategic Diversity recruitment plan that supports organizational goals. Maintain sources of diverse hires including employee referrals, internet, executive recruiting resources, university recruiting and professional groups.
Establish collaborative and influential working relationships with the functional executive teams through consistent communication and accurate reporting. Consult with leaders and provide guidance to management on successful recruiting strategies.
Provide regular management reports summarizing progress towards recruiting metrics and identifying trends that have an impact on the business. In partnership with executives, develop strategies and action plans to address areas of concern.
Assuring that all appropriate and accurate data is entered into the applicant tracking system and that the system is fully leveraged to meet legal requirements, track metrics and support the business.
Partner with Business, Finance and HR Functions to forecast, develop and drive achievement of the workforce plan.
Resolve regional escalations as needed based on executive concerns.
Lead a team of TA Managers, Recruiters, Sourcers and Coordinators, ensuring goals and objectives are in place for every team member, and regularly scheduled one on ones and team meetings. Manage team performance to established goals and metrics, coaching for both high and low performance. Address lower performers on a timely basis. Continually scan the market for recruiters and sourcers to ensure a sufficient pipeline is in place for team openings as they occur. Ensure a succession plan is in place for the Director role as well as a development plan for your direct reports.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
Minimum 15 years of related experience, training and/or industry knowledge.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a technology company within the Fortune 500.
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a team in Asia Pacific Japan; regional APJ recruiting experience.

Desired Qualifications

Software, SaaS or similar recurring revenue industry experience.
Proven experience in achieving staffing, budgeting and workforce planning targets.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, persuasive, leadership and negotiation skills to interact with all levels of management, staff and external vendors.
Solid systems skills and strong familiarity with applicant tracking systems, social media, job boards and other recruiting technologies.
An ability to think strategically and demonstrated ability to translate strategy into a plan. Demonstrated ability to deliver against a plan.
Solid process orientation and have superior attention to detail.
Expert knowledge of employment laws, interviewing techniques, corporate recruitment processes, and recruitment strategies.
Experience managing a team of 8 or more.
