Director Learning Development APAC Expedia Singapore

We are seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Learning & Development Director to design and deliver our communication and training strategy for our Asia Pacific audience.

By collaborating with teams across GLO, you will dedicate yourself to three critical activities: set the strategy for APAC communication and training, aligned with the global strategy; lead, build and develop a world class training team in APAC; consulting with senior leaders to identify their needs and create solutions for complex business problems, share insights and provide coaching to support the implementation of newly developed skills or change programs.

Drawing on your experiences in leading teams, you will work alongside our GLO leadership team, external vendors and our trainers to ensure they deliver training to our teams, both face to face and remotely, as well as contributing to and cultivating our new digital content.
When it comes to stakeholder conversations, including Vice Presidents, Senior Directors or HR Directors, your credibility needs to stand out, combining your questioning and listening ability with your knowledge of learning and development to deliver extraordinary learning solutions in a business context. You’ll need that Exec presence!

A clear and logical thinker, you will confidently untangle conflicting needs into clear plans, whether it be leading training content, designing a bespoke session for an offsite or leading an initiative on behalf of multiple teams within GLO.

We are always looking to understand the ‘stickiness’ of our learning, as well as the return on investment. Through the understanding of adult learning theory, you will help us identify the most effective overall learner experience to enable our programs to improve their return and embed newly learnt skills.

This role will require a high degree of travel in APAC and key locations in the US and EMEA.

Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the GLO APAC team, including trainers, learning consultants and instructional designers
Evaluate trainer performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement for both delivery methods and course content
Fostering the team’s ways of working, acting as a leadership role model and having a full understanding of GLO’s learning products
Design and implement regular training needs analyses and ensure ongoing needs are captured and delivered to support the business needs and inform redesign of existing courses.
Deliver against those needs, ensuring global design is adapted for regional delivery
Oversee the delivery of all LPS communication and training, including leadership, GPG, GMM and GSO curricula, off-sites and summits
Leading aspects of the leadership strategy delivery ensuring that all relevant GLO partners, including multiple trainers or other functional teams, have clear transparency of upcoming work
Coaching those needing support, either in training content or in embedding newly learnt skills
Building rapport with teams within GLO to support needs of the APAC business, acting as a subject matter expert and ensuring that all initiatives are clearly prioritized and delivered within agreed timescales
Align all training interventions with competency framework, working closely with HRBP’s
Actively identify, mitigate, resolve or call out any risks, issues and dependencies that could impact projects or initiatives
Working with the Communications & Campaigns team to ensure relevant audiences are updated on what they need to know
Creating and maintaining a GLO Library of materials, and ensuring communication and accessibility of this to the wider team
Providing support where required to other training and projects within GLO
Experience/qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Business, Education or related field
Professional certificates in Training, Learning & Development preferred
10+years HR or managerial experience, with strong learning and development focus
People management and leadership skills and ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization
Strong consultancy and partner management
Experience in a broad range of facilitation including train the trainer and virtual delivery
Shown ability to operate at all levels of an organization, including influencing and presenting to senior partners
High degree of competency with adult learning concepts, practices, and procedures including the design of instructor led training and delivery of content with strong facilitation
Experience of working in a global role within a matrix organization
Passion and integrity with the dedication to excel and deliver extraordinary results
Ability to problem solve independently and deliver results based on a range of requests
