Reporting to the Vice President of HR Shared Services, the Director, HR Solutions, is a key and transformative leadership role within the HR Shared Services organization, delivering technology and process solutions, reporting, analytics and HR intelligence. This role is responsible for the quality, integrity, consistency and optimization of global, regional and local HR platforms and processes.
Position Details
For this high-impact role, we seek a results-oriented, creative and strategic leader with a deep understanding of HR requirements and unit operations, to develop short and long term strategies for optimizing HR solutions and technologies that enable the organization to centralize routine transactional processes and make decentralized work highly efficient, improving focus on business operations. The successful candidate will lead, in consultation with strategic sourcing and HR stakeholders, the evaluation of technology and service providers, including SaaS and outsourced processing providers. Collects business requirements and synthesizes feedback in the evaluation process to present a clear recommendation for new solutions, including evaluation of costs, risks and change efforts. They will successfully deploy project management and other resources to lead change and transformation initiatives, balancing resources for both sustaining and improving efforts and ensuring coordination with other activities in the organization. They will identify and coordinate IT, external or other corporate function resources needed to deliver solutions. Direct the continual development and implementation of efficient transaction processes, staff and support systems that meet HR’s strategic direction.
The leader we seek will work collaboratively with IT, HR and business leaders, establishes and enforces appropriate HR governance, technology policies and practices, master data management, best practices, processes, systems and technology portfolio, project management and methodologies. They will seek out and represents HR in enterprise initiatives related to technology, IT security, data management and reporting. The Director, HR Solutions ensures the HR organization executes on its strategic projects and serves as the single point of accountability for decision making and escalations. Also, ensuring service levels are met and/or exceeded and all operation metrics are trending in a positive direction.
The successful candidate will deliver frameworks, standards, processes and governance processes while partnering with key stakeholders to drive practical solutions which improve service delivery and cost of service. Demonstrate thought leadership, business acumen and execution in the design and integration of tools, technology and best practices with a centralized services model as the organization evolves to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness. They will continually optimize HR processes through the application of technology, enhancing skill sets of staff members, while creating cost savings which drives value for the business. They must demonstrate the ability to scale and drive business results and high levels of customer satisfaction. Continually finding ways to reduce costs and improve the bottom line for the business. They will develop and execute on a budget aligned with strategic priorities, while serving as a fiduciary of firm resources and demonstrating value to internal clients that fund the function on an enterprise basis. Ensuring service levels are met and/or exceeded and all operation metrics are trending in a positive direction. Has responsibility, in partnership with IT and HR leadership, for the design, implementation and monitoring if HR Data Security and Privacy framework, policies and practices.”
The leader we seek has a solid understanding of employment compliance matters and methods to mitigate risk through process design, automation and technology. Assures effective execution of policy through his or her involvement in policy development and review, enabling design and delivery of optimal processes and technology to implement policies. Balances compliance risk and operational needs of the business to deliver simple and repeatable solutions that scale and are easily sustained.
The Director, HR Solutions will develop and manage a staff to ensure high productivity, job satisfaction and professional development. Capable of identifying and developing future leaders both within the team of direct reports as well as others in the servicing organization. The person we seek has a track record of attracting, retaining and developing high performing teams. Effectively coordinates the work of the team that ensures alignment, efficiency and clear accountability for delivery of HR solutions. Building a team culture of ongoing performance feedback and ability to constructively address differences and conflict.
They will develop collaborative and proactive relationships with Centers of Excellence, HRVPs, corporate functions and IT. Viewed as a key partner to the business capable of delivering effective and sustainable solutions to operational people challenges. Establish expertise in technology and function; able to influence others through power of vision, building consensus and executing to deliver quality services in a cost effective manner. Oversees all aspects of assigned vendor relationships, from sourcing and negotiating, to billing and service level agreements. Develops relationships with key partners in the HR services and solutions space.
Qualifications
Education
BA/BS preferred; Master’s degree or further professional designation preferred.
Required
Established and experienced leader with ten (10) or more years of hands-on experience in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Process Management, Program Management or Shared Services. Knowledge of HR Information Solutions and HR Operations with at least the five (5) years in a senior-level role.
Experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, and solution development in a cross-functional or matrixed structure. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Three (3) to five (5) years managing mid to large-scale change/project initiatives including knowledge of planning models and methodology, project management and change management experience (strategic and execution).
Experience with outsourced or co-sourced servicing models, vendor selection and management. Demonstrated ability to coordinate business process and technology teams to deliver comprehensive solutions. Successful manage multi-million-dollar project or department budgets.
Demonstrated ability to build a bench of internal talent that supports business growth.
This role is located in Buffalo, NY, relocation to the Buffalo, NY area is required.
Travel: 30%.
