Facebook is looking for an experienced Policy Director to join our Product Policy Team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for how our products may be used by our constituents, including advertisers, developers, and all other people on Facebook. As a Policy Director, you will manage a global team of policy subject-area specialists to develop policies and then help communicate those policies both internally and externally. You will be responsible for ensuring that policies take into consideration the perspectives of multiple stakeholders, including internal teams on Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Communications, and Legal. You will also be responsible for ensuring that those internal teams understand how those policy refinements and interpretations affect their work. You should be passionate about the Facebook principles, experienced in policy or legislation, and comfortable communicating to a variety of different audiences.
Responsibilities
Collaborate on development and interpretation of policies and enforcement strategies to support Facebook’s constituents worldwide.
Provide guidance to current team members on effective communications and consensus-building.
Act as the escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues.
Build relationships with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Communications, and Legal.
Articulate policy philosophy, launches, and changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, cross-functional contacts, and external parties.
Work with operations groups to develop scalable solutions to support Facebook’s continued growth and drive key automation and productivity initiatives to improve the processes of the Product Policy Team.
Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing policies and develop scalable solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Policy, Law, or other related field
10+ years of relevant policy work experience in legislation, litigation, or policy development
Experience in the area of consensus-building and working cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
JD or other advanced degree
Experience managing a Policy Team
