To provide leadership to all staff involved in service delivery and further
develop Thistle Foundation as a self-directed wellbeing organisation.
As a member of the Strategic Leaders Group, contribute to strategic planning and
leadership for the whole organisation and support the achievement of Thistle’s
vision, mission and strategic priorities.
1. To provide strategic leadership and facilitate the ongoing development and delivery of a broad range
of innovative, asset based, person-centred wellbeing activities.
This will involve:
• leading by example and developing/modelling best practice in outcome focused, people centred wellbeing
work;
• ensuring that everything Thistle does promotes and maximises choice and control for people, families and
communities we work with;
• ensuring that Thistle’s work supports individuals, families and communities to exercise their power,
maximise their potential and achieve the best possible quality of life;
• keeping up to date, anticipating and planning for changes in best practice and legislation;
• being proactive in networking and professional development events and opportunities;
• implementing change initiatives designed to secure improvements in the quality, range and diversity of the
wellbeing work that Thistle undertakes; and,
• keeping under review the operation, size and financial sustainability of Thistle operations.
2. To lead staff in ways that promote self-direction and collaboration within and outwith the
organisation by:
• providing regular support and supervision;
• supporting regular reflective practice;
