Twitch is building the future of interactive entertainment. Our video engineering tools group is responsible for delivering high quality tooling to enable scale, reliability and development velocity across the video organization.
You will use your experience building effective organizations and scalable processes to help scale engineering and ensure that large projects with complex components are delivered efficiently and with high quality. You will work closely with the individual contributors and managers on your teams, as well as cross-team with engineering, product, operations and business leadership to ensure our tooling initiatives stay stable and scale indefinitely. The ideal candidate will have spent 5+ years as a hands-on engineer solving hard tooling or scaling problems horizontally, and then at least 3 years leading and building a team of engineers to do the same.

Build long standing relationships with software teams to ensure alignment
Assist your teams in developing roadmaps for tooling and automation growth, then identify, plan, and execute projects to support that growth
Resolve tooling roadblocks to accelerate infrastructure and product groups development
Focus on incremental progress to truly accelerate the wider organization
Represent your team to senior leadership and other groups to build a challenging vision and ensure you have the resources to deliver it
Define a vision for excellence at Twitch for your teams, and then deliver on it
Requirements
Strong leadership and communication (synchronous and asynchronous) skills
Strong organizational skills
Hands on management experience building engineering teams and scaling organizations to deliver and maintain complex systems
Hands on experience managing and developing engineering managers
Hands on development experience building tooling in complex environments with legacy services present
Ability to collect feedback and distill it into vision that will span an organization
Bonus Points
Experience writing Go
Prior experience working in a consumer facing start-up
Experience defining tooling centric roadmaps as an Engineer or Product Manager
Desire to incorporate Operations and Infrastructure tooling needs into the team
