The Nutrition Science team requires the capability and expertise to undertake a broad range of research trials and research operations that enable the company to implement its research strategy. In addition there is a need to interpret, communicate and translate nutrition science and the relationship between physiology diet and health. The conduct of original research to support claims, ingredients, products and health initiatives is a business critical need for the Nutrition Sciences team as well as broadly across the company. This position is designed to lead and facilitate both the evaluation of proposed research in a wide area of nutrition sciences as well as the communication of Nutrition Science messaging to provide technical support with a specific focus on physiology; as such the following will be required:
Deep knowledge of physiology, biochemistry and nutrition. Knowledge of the science on dietary fats including the interaction of specific types (saturated, unsaturated, short medium long chain length) of fats with health outcomes would be helpful.
Instruct and assist Nutrition Science members in developing research designs and/strategy
Assist in the development of communications materials regarding scientific outcomes of research for both internal and external stakeholders.
Assist Nutrition Science team with coordination of collaboration among Nutrition Science members on projects requiring knowledge of biology, physiology and biochemistry
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in physiology, nutrition sciences or closely related field
Proven experience evaluating research proposals and editing/revision of scientific manuscripts
10 years of experience/expertise with clinical trial development & management for either federally funded or corporate funded research
Proven publication record of peer reviewed scientific research in physiology/health
7 years working in CPG or pharmaceutical industries
In depth knowledge of Endnote or other reference manager software
Primary and secondary research data experience such as survey creation or Google Analytics.

Ability to work with other people
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills demonstrated by the ability to positively influence within and outside the organization
