Partner with the client business and other key stakeholders to promote BlackRock’s global credit products in Japan; drive significant growth in revenues sourced from Japanese clients
Be responsive to client requests and queries, including supporting often very complicated and deep due diligence processes
Play a leading role in designing tailored credit products that meet the requirements of large Japanese clients
Help define and position BlackRock’s competitive advantage in credit; understand industry dynamics and drivers of growth
Represent the product and the portfolio manager at product pitches, review meetings, market updates and ad hoc portfolio-related meetings
Represent Japanese interest in thought leadership pieces produced across the platform
Liaise and collaborate with the credit portfolio management and strategy teams based in New York and London
Actively participate in investment and research meetings; contribute to the investment dialogue
Regularly communicate with regional and global stakeholders to understand sales and client feedback around the reception of product messages and positioning
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong understanding of and background in the credit asset class, including middle market lending, opportunistic, and distressed, preferably from a product specialist / investment role
Exceptional oral and written communications skills in English and Japanese
Knowledge of institutions, business customs, and regulatory frameworks across Japan
Track record of understanding the needs of strategic clients
Strong presentation skills and ability to deliver pertinent facts in a concise way
Solid interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form meaningful working partnerships
Receptivity to firm culture and ability to promote same.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including ability to function effectively within an unstructured, fast-paced environment
