Senior Director Litigation & IP NVIDIA Santa Clara

The NVIDIA Legal team is seeking a Senior Director, Litigation & IP to be part of a dynamic and growing company.

You will report directly to the Vice President of Intellectual Property and be part of a visionary Legal team. You will be primarily responsible for leading and directing outside counsel in IP cases around the world, including patent litigation.
What you’ll be doing:
Directing litigation as necessary to assert, or defend, IP or other matters for the company.
Representing NVIDIA in professional organizations and venues relative to patents, litigation and licensing.
Managing and directing pre-litigation activities and responses to IP assertions.
Conducting analysis of NVIDIA's patent portfolio.
Implementing strategies for the effective use of NVIDIA's intellectual property in litigation and licensing contexts.
Assisting in the negotiation and/or directly negotiate licensing agreements and develop internal positions on licensing issues within NVIDIA’s field of interest.
Providing guidance on the development of company policies for the development and protection of IP and litigation.
Advising and counseling to the legal function and to all levels of management relative to patent and litigation related matters, including changes and developments in patent laws and litigation practice.
What we need to see:
Deep understanding and extensive experience (10+ years) in federal district court litigation, including stand-up experience in trials, hearings, and depositions required.
J.D. degree and a license to practice law in California is required. Engineering degree or equivalent preferred.
Litigation experience in electrical engineering, semiconductor, or wireless areas strongly preferred.
Experience practicing before domestic and international courts and tribunals, including but not limited to the International Trade Commission and Patent and Trademark Appeals Board, preferred.
Appellate and Federal judicial clerkship experience preferred.

Requires an ability to undertake and execute on initiatives, highly effective verbal and written communications skills, including strong persuasive skills.
Experience with the semiconductor and/or other high tech industries.
Passionate working in a dynamic, fast-growing technology company preferred.
