The Director, Metadata serves as the principal contact for the development and leadership of metadata strategy. This role oversees the timely curation, tagging, rating, application and enhancement of title-level metadata for all Lionsgate content. The candidate will also evolve operational tools and processes in addition to leading special projects with cross-functional business partners. The Director, Metadata will:
Manage all aspects of title-level metadata for the Company for both current and library film and TV titles
Understand the Lionsgate business as a whole and incorporate the needs from Home Entertainment, Digital, Domestic and International TV Sales, Brand Marketing and Production into the company wide metadata capture, standards, nomenclature, systems, measurement, storage and distribution strategy.
Evaluate current metadata processes and systems in order to provide recommendations on gaps, critical needs, and improvements
Research, identify, and act on opportunities to optimize efficient use of metadata across the company as well as formalize policy towards alignment, convergence and integration of metadata-based workflows
Collaborate in metadata advocacy at relevant industry associations and organizations
Experience & Skills:
Qualifications/Requirements:
5+ years of experience in information architecture, knowledge and/or content management and library
Familiarity with current concepts, practices, and trends in media asset management, digital asset management, search engines/portals, database and data modeling structures
Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and facilitate diverse global business needs with active participation and group consensus
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate sophisticated metadata concepts to audiences of all levels
Ability to synthesize complex technical concepts, protocols and standards, and communicate them into meaningful business activities and/or priorities
