VFS’ Global Capital Strategies Team actively engages in the sale, syndication and participation of its commercial and dealer financing activities. This position will be responsible for the development of these activities across multiple Markets within VFS Region APAC through internal and external marketing and the structuring and negotiation of the transactions. Transactions will be primarily consummated with banks and other financial institutions in order to manage credit exposure, and expand sources of funding as a key component in the broader development of Region APAC’s capital markets strategy. This position will be a member of our VFS Global Headquarters Capital Strategies Team and will work closely with and support VFS APAC management team under the leadership of the Vice-President Capital Strategies, Syndication.
Syndication requests will be swiftly evaluated and marketed to funding sources with matching profiles present for a given deal. Syndication opportunities will be sourced from the existing VFS portfolio and through direct and continuous interaction with local market leadership. Sales of individual accounts or portfolios will be negotiated, reviewed for accuracy, processed, and administered to ensure timely and comprehensive decisions and transaction bookings. In addition, the position will provide timely guidance to VFS management as to the pricing and risk marketability of select transactions and portfolios to facilitate new originations and group sales.

Key responsibilities
Support VFS’ commercial activities by providing guidance on marketability and pricing for the salability of credit submittals and existing booked contracts.
Establish syndication activity in new markets by developing appropriate investors and negotiating and closing transactions in close coordination with VFS functional resources including legal, tax, accounting etc.
Demonstrated ability to underwrite transactions and articulate the strengths, weaknesses, and recommendation in verbal and written presentations accordingly.
Manage overall relationships with syndicate partners including banks, independent finance companies and other appropriate institutions.
Review, track, and evaluate syndicate profiles and performance.
Represent and sell the benefits of the VFS operating model to attract premium funding from partners.
Manage syndicate due diligence requests of VFS back office processes and customer information.
Assist in the development and implementation of origination procedures to minimize risk, improve underwriting quality, and improve overall marketability of transactions.
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in the syndication process.
Assist business as necessary in the servicing and management of sold accounts including end of term processes, modifications, assignment and assumptions, repossessions and bankruptcies.
This position requires the ability and willingness to travel (approximately 20%-80% depending on location).

Qualifications
BA/BS in Business or equivalent with MBA preferred.
7+ years experience in the origination and structuring of commercial loan and lease syndications with a bank, captive finance or similar finance company preferred.
5 + years experience in loan or lease underwriting preferred.
5 + years experience in transportation and/or construction equipment finance is preferred.
Self starter with relationship management experience and sales experience preferred.
Proven record of achievement in credit structuring and deal negotiations a must.
Existing relationships with funding sources preferred.
Fluency in English mandatory and additional language preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast paced, demanding environment.
Strong credit underwriting and analytical skills, including familiarity with personal credit bureau reports, commercial business reports (Dun and Bradstreet, Experian, Paynet, etc.) and other reference sources (bonding, insurance, finance, trade).
Familiarity of financial statements and prepare written summaries of key information. Financial statement analysis includes: ratio analysis, common sizing, review of industry norms, trending, and cash flow analysis. The ability to interpret key financial information and assess the potential impact to the borrower is necessary.
Effective customer and syndicate partner focused communication skills. These include the ability to: identify primary customer needs, ask the right questions upfront, help the Sales Department manage relationships, convey self-confidence, be a value-added resource, and communicate the competitive advantage of doing business with our organization.
Demonstrated PC skills essential. Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Word, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint proficiency required.
