This is a key position within Infinera’s global Software PLM organization. The role is a global position, focused on strategy, definition and operationalization of Infinera L2/L3 SDN/NFV products and solutions.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, independent, able to manage multiple projects at once and matrix manage across cross-functional teams. The candidate should also be able to couple those skills with strong communication skills, both written and verbal to influence internal stakeholders as well as external audience. The ideal candidate will also have a technical background, have significant hands on expertise in packet networked products and solutions, possess a degree in engineering and an MBA as well as familiarity with the global telecommunications landscape.
Develop, Execute and Maintain Product Lifecycle
Define and deliver the Infinera L2/L3 SDN Roadmap
Partner with Infinera Business Groups to define and deliver high value packet-optical feature sets on current and future Packet-Optical platforms
Define and develop a differentiated NFV strategy that unlocks core values for customers
Influence key product decisions in partnership with Business Group leaders
Differentiate and own Revenue for Infinera L2/L3 SDN products
Identify competitive threats - present strategies to combat effectively
Significant customer interaction expected to evangelize & define products owned
Develop a strategy to monetize L2/L3 features sets across the product portfolio
Required Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be well organized, self-starter with the ability to manage build/develop/execute best practices as well as new ideas to help drive product revenue growth. The candidate must also be able to associate all goals, objectives and budget requirements into measurable results to continually evaluate & drive success, as well as combat competitive threats.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Strong understanding of network architectures SDN/NFV
Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Exceptional skills in Leadership/influence, cross-team collaboration, presentation, Exec presence and ability to demonstrate passion.
Requires a deep understanding of software architecture and product evolution
Hands-on understanding of packet technologies, protocols in high scale networks
Must have at least 12 years of prior telecommunications and networking experience with at least 5 years in product management
BSEE/CS or equivalent work experience with a Master’s degree (MS/MBA) preferred
