Assembly Media Inc., a subsidiary of Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc. is seeking an Editorial Director to join our growing Microsoft Store team on the Microsoft campus in Redmond. You are part journalist, part creative director, part producer and all storyteller. You realize the swim lanes of PR, advertising, and journalism have all but washed away for the great brands today that are truly engaging with people, and you realize employee communications should be no different.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ideate, set and execute editorial/storytelling strategies for an executive client
Define and articulate the mission and goals of the Microsoft Store organization
Conceive and oversee content programs for client campaigns across all platforms
Create system to regularly monitor completed work for learning and improvement opportunities
Oversee assignments of work to appropriate teams internally and to freelancers
Ensure the highest quality work product
Ensure realistic deadlines are set and deadlines are met
Ensure budgets are met
Basic Qualifications:
The VP, Editorial Director must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in journalism, employee engagement, and/or internal, corporate and/or executive communications
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to lead and execute research-driven communications programs for executives to advance their business goals
A proven ability to help executives garner support, advance the Microsoft Store brand and/or organization reputation by engaging with key stakeholders
Ability to manage and develop executive platforms, including the creation of speeches, talking points and briefing materials
Proven experience engagement multi-level stakeholders and the ability to manage up across the team and with clients
An understanding of how communications teams work from both client and agency-sides
Be entrepreneurial and professional with influencing capabilities, impeccable written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Proven track record in content development and strategy and experience with video content
Strong emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively across a matrixed organization
Superb people manager who’s able to attract, motivate, retain, empower and coach staff, and who possesses the vision, insight and confidence necessary to manage a team
