Director Product Marketing VMware Palo Alto

Responsibilities: Lead a team of product marketing managers towards the following:

Drive product launches and ensure that the vSAN specialist and core sales and SE organizations are up to speed on the latest product capabilities and roadmap. Present the product at various field and industry events and roadshows.
Sales Enablement: Design and develop the sales enablement content targeting different segments such that VMware direct field is well equipped to sell and compete. Deliver the training online and in personal globally.
Sales Tools: Building and roll out of Sizing and ROI/TCO calculators that can influence and drive purchase decisions for VMware customers
Competitive:
Competitive Intelligence and Analysis: Serve as the subject matter expert on Competitive strategy and product offerings from competitors hyper-converged infrastructure space. Research and identify the business and high-level technical advantages of VMware’s vSAN over competitive offerings.
Competitive Strategy: Formulate the competitive strategy, design marketing programs and formulate an execution plan to drive VMware’s success in desired accounts, segments and verticals.
Competitive go-to-market:
Messaging and Positioning: Develop “Why VMware” competitive messages for the targeted segments and personas. Author and produce competitive sales tools in the form of TCO calculators, presentations, briefs, white papers and web site content.
Field enablement: Engage with VMware field to show customers the advantages of VMware vSAN. Champion VMware before customers at all levels.
Communicate and evangelize VMware advantages over competing vendors in live training events, speaking opportunities and social media.
Provide product requirements to VMware development and product management teams to ensure VMware stays ahead of competition.
Deal Support: Engage with field on a need to basis to provide the necessary product and competitive support in customer engagements.
Customer Reference: Help build the pipeline for internal and public customer references. Assist in conducting customer interviews, reviewing and developing references content. Maintain customer relationships.
· Business Acceleration initiatives: Propose and drive business acceleration initiatives such as white space analysis for various segments, segment level growth opportunities etc.

Preferred qualifications:

· BA/BS or equivalent required. MS or MBA degree strongly preferred

· Past product marketing experience in enterprise software, storage, virtualization or cloud products is preferred

· Leadership or people management experience is required

· Ability to present effectively before customers and large audience

· Mastery of verbal and written communications and strong analytical skills

· Demonstrated success in leading cross functional teams and effective project management and analytical/decision-making skills

· Strong teamwork and inter-personal skills

· Ability to multi-task, change priorities rapidly and work under pressure
