We are seeking a Director, Business Operations to join our Eagle Lending team. Eagle Lending is leading the bank on how to leverage technology to attract and retain the next generation of First Republic clients. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and driving cross-functional strategic and operational improvements from start to finish to support the growth of Eagle Lending. The candidate will work closely with the executive team, business unit heads, business users, and various technology teams to design and deliver an optimized process which accomplishes key business objectives. Utilizing a strong understanding of business process design, the individual will work to ensure consistently seamless integration between business operations and technology. The individual should be a great team leader and have the ability to build and develop a team. While strategic and structured thinking are critical elements of this role, this individual will be required to take a tactical role with requirements, design, testing, deliverable preparation and other related activities.
Work with key business users to understand the current process and pain points
Collaborate with business users and the Technology team to design and document future state, including drafting use cases, performing detailed system analysis and leading project tasks
Oversee all aspects of a project in support of an overall program and/or manages small-to-medium projects or department projects within an overall program
Perform the duties including but not limited to: create sound business requirements, act as liaison with cross functional teams, provide oversight of technology outputs, and manage production certifications and deployment
Define and manage scope, budget, time-line, and resource requirements while working with the Corporate PMO
Identify project risks and collaborate with the project team and management to mitigate project risks
Keep abreast of competitive products and industry trends, and contribute findings to the maintenance of the product roadmap
Perform duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities
Keep abreast of regulatory, legal and industry best practices to maintain compliance and an appropriate level of risk, particularly related to internet security. Partner closely with leadership of Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Information Systems, Information Security and Compliance/ Legal to develop and recommend related risk management activities
Qualifications:
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Undergraduate Degree Required; MBA strongly preferred
6+ years of experience. Experience at a strategy consulting firm, investment bank, and/or operation experience in enterprise software, SaaS, or consumer internet highly preferred
Strong understanding and experience in executing complex software projects in the enterprise environment. Experience with Agile methodology strongly preferred
Proficient with business process re-engineering, planning, and decision making. Very strong analytical skills across diverse business disciplines – financial, organizational behavior, statistical
High-energy, positive can-do attitude – ability to balance numerous priorities and demands
Demonstrated leadership, planning, and managerial skills with ability to contribute broadly at a management level. Pragmatic with an ability to generate trust and build alliances across business and functional lines
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly and concisely in a variety of settings and styles; possess excellent writing and reporting skills in order to transform conversations into documented business processes
Looks toward the broadest possible view of an issue/ challenge; can easily pose future scenarios; can think globally about all aspects of the bank; can discuss multiple considerations of an issue and forecast them into the future; understands how the bank works, competes, serves clients, and generates shareholder value
Proactive, self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team. Quick learner who is able to manage multiple, and sometimes fluid, priorities
