• Build, lead and manage a team of talented professionals.
• Work effectively with other groups within Amazon in order to deliver products and services that span multiple areas of business.
• Drive the strategy, creation, launch and operation of innovative, customer facing businesses and services.
• Deliver high availability/high reliability software.
• Deliver businesses and services in all geographies that warrant investment.
• Define and meet/exceed SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
The ideal candidate will be a combination of business leader, visionary, inventor, builder, and operator. They must be passionate about the opportunity to work for Amazon.com and the prospect of inventing exciting shopping experiences for our customers globally.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience
• 5+ years of management experience
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience leading small and large organizations (10 – 50+ people)
• (Specific) industry knowledge and experience
• Development expertise in OOP, UNIX, Perl, C++, XML, Web services, and UNIX tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree and/or PhD preferred in mathematics, computer science, or related discipline
• MBA preferred
