Position Summary: Provides strategic planning, direction and execution for the Global Sports Marketing team. Ensure the company has an enhanced presence on the global professional tours (PGA, European, Japan, Champions, Web.com and LPGA). Primary focus will be to ensure teams are operating strategically and providing service at the highest levels on tour. Additionally, this role orchestrates a robust global amateur program that facilitates the identification and recruiting of those athletes that align with the brand and show the greatest future potential. The amateur scouting occurs primarily through the AJGA and NCAA relationships, which this role oversees. This position serves as the department’s primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Manages the department’s working budget (MWB/Demand Creation) and the oversight of athlete utilization via requests from the commercial teams.
As the department’s primary internal contact and leader, this individual is responsible for the proper routing of issues, requests and projects within the department.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develop and effectively communicate strategies and expectations for Sports Marketing/Tour initiatives (including budgetary) Offer regular Effectively communicate competitive Coordinate Tour strategy/execution integrations with adidas Golf counterparts. Responsible for creating and adidas Golf leadership and Sports Marketing leadership within the adidas Brand. Manage tour team to maximize productivity, execute company/department strategy and maintain a high level of team and individual morale. Create and foster a winning, competitive and inviting culture that allows employees to thrive and players/customers to bond with our brands. Visit professional golf events in order to maintain strong relationships with players, agents. Support US Green Work closely with Product Marketing to develop product for tour players and include players in the product development process. Work with Brand Marketing to coordinate photo shoots and special events that may include sponsored Performs other responsibilities as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English both written and verbally Must demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of adidas Golf products. Must have expertise in golf knowledge and terminology . Proficient in Microsoft Software Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Individual has background of competitor products and analysis of performance of these products. Must be able to understand the player population that they will be working with in terms of product needs and tendencies. Must have strong knowledge of current Ability to retain and manage current TM relationships and to possess amicable, outgoing and strong listening and verbal communication skills. Must understand the sports marketing p Must be fluent with product, design and swing mechanics of today’s highest performing players. Strong interpersonal and public relations skills as well as a neat and professional appearance are a must Self-motivated, works independently, entreprene Must have valid driver’s license and intermediate computer skills
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
7-10 years of experience in the golf industry interacting with golf professionals and agents at the highest levels.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 75% both domestically and internationally, in excess of 200 days on the road. Must be able to work extended hours, holidays and weekends as needed. Will spend considerable time outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
