Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure Finance (MCI Finance) is a new, exciting and fast evolving finance team within Microsoft Finance at the forefront of our Mobile First, Cloud First strategy. The team has a charter to:
• Expand Cloud Services Profitability through focus on Gross Margin
• Support Long Term bets, & drive Competitive Intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition
• Enhance transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments
The team supports Microsoft online services across Azure, Office 365, Bing, OneDrive, and Skype!
We currently have an opening for an experienced Director of Finance to join the MCI Finance team managing the Infrastructure capacity planning and CapEx team.
Responsibilities
• Direct and lead a high-performance team
• Partner with finance leaders in managing infrastructure CapEx
• Partner with leaders across engineering, supply chain and operations to oversee server, network, bandwidth and data center capacity planning.
• Represent finance in business S&OP
• Develop, implement and oversee financial processes that meet the requirements of the organization
• Grow the talent of the MCI Finance organization and prepare individuals for larger, high-impact jobs
Qualifications and Skills
• 10+ years of Finance experience, including significant, senior-level leadership roles
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, computer science or engineering, MBA preferred
• People management experience of 5+ years with demonstrated cross-group leadership
• Strong conceptual understanding and ability to articulate application of financial principles to this business space
• Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management
• Supply chain, CapEx and capacity planning experience a plus
• Demonstrated ability to effectively translate financial analysis and insights into meaningful and actionable business communications and recommendations
• Outstanding written & verbal communication skills and experience presenting to executives
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, have excellent attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlines.
• Ability to independently lead teams and execute on functional responsibilities with minimal guidance and oversight
