Role Purpose
The Director, Production Security will oversee all security logistics and physical security operations for all NBCU Productions (Feature Film, Cable & TV) to include special events associated with production such as screenings, premieres and awards shows. This role reports to the Vice President, West Coast Corporate Security Operations, and will work closely with all NBCUniversal production & special events teams to ensure the necessary resources, policies, and processes are in place to protect the company’s employees, physical property, intellectual property, and operations. This position will be based out of the Company offices in Universal City, CA.
Work directly with the NBCU Productions in the planning and execution phase of all remote filming - assessing the Security needs, securing appropriate vendors, travelling to remotes when required, and conducting post-mortems to identify lessons learned and greater opportunity for efficiency
Act as a liaison on Security issues between the production’s management, crew and NBCUniversal Security management; including briefing of producers, crew, and staff on security assessments for all general and specific security issues, as well as properly notifying and escalating to NBCU Corporate Security leader as expected
Oversee Security Vendors and implement action plans for NBCU Production teams. Coordinate with Security vendors who operate remotely for NBCU Production and ensure standard operating procedures are up to date and adhered to while on location
Oversee all special events and resolution of incidents and issues that may arise. Respond timely to various business units to include Special Events, Marketing, Publicity, Corporate Communications and Legal. Work closely with security vendors to ensure proper staffing.
Liaise with local, state and federal law enforcement and emergency response agencies
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of law enforcement/military experience at the local, state, or federal level, or a related role within a corporation with a track record of professional success
Minimum 2 years’ experience managing personnel, working with security vendors, and working with law enforcement partners
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a Studio environment
Experience planning event security and managing a budget
Effective and current strong domestic and international security network
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field

Desired Characteristics
Previous entertainment or media experience with a thorough understanding of motion picture and television production including process, terminology, organizational structure, and content protection protocols
Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Ability to work independently to deliver exceptional results among multiple priorities.
