Group Strategy Director Marcom Apple Santa Clara

A highly experienced strategic thinker who has lead responsibility for delivering innovative, compelling, and provocative strategic thinking and briefs for their brand team.

Has a strong knowledge of and proven experience in the strategic development process. Consistently delivers best in class insights and strategic thinking.

Should be able to quickly build a strong expertise in the products and brand.

Has proven strong leadership skills and the ability to lead within their teams and with the rest of the strategy group as a whole.
The GSD will develop important relationships with our partners outside of Marcom (Product Marketing, Research, User database, Retail strategy) to introduce the right information and insights into the strategic directions for the products/communications they are responsible for and working with the strategists on the brand team to bring those to life in inspiring briefs.

The GSD will also collaborate with the other GSD(s) on the ongoing strategic direction of the brand across all products, values, and markets.

Key Qualifications

10+ years of strategic planning experience at a reputable company or creative agency.
Solid strategic expertise in developing insights and opportunities across a broad range of problems and deliverables, including advertising, retail, channel, interactive, and social media.
Proven project management skills
Expert presentation skills, both written and verbal
Ability to knit together disparate sources of information into a strong strategic narrative.
Extensive experience leading strategic conversations with divergent teams of people.
Ability to develop productive relationships with partners outside Marcom.
Ability to react quickly to new information, opinion and direction.
Description

Marcom is comprised of three major brand teams each with a leadership team that is made up of a Group Brand Director, a pair of Group Creative Directors, and a Group Strategy director. So this role is part of a very tight knit group that is responsible for guiding the strategic direction and all creative work within that group both internally within Marcom, across interested parties within Apple, and with external agency patterns.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred
