The Director of Resource Management for Apple Marketing Communications will oversee resourcing for a large group of creatives, developers, producers, and production staff. This role is at the center of an extremely dynamic environment and will ensure workload balancing across numerous functions and projects. This role will manage a team of Resource Managers who work closely with creative teams of all disciplines to assign resources to the work, validate team assignments, and balance resources across individuals and teams.
In strong partnership with the Creative, Producer and Production teams, this Director will need to understand the complexity of how work gets done, have a deep understanding of the creative process, and have impeccable communication and interpersonal skills.

This role is responsible for standardizing the Resource Management practice for Marcom, including but not limited to: defining the role of Resource Manager for each group, establishing how the organization interacts with Resource Managers, establishing a common set of resourcing reports, and driving requirements for our resource management tool.

This role requires a high level of flexibility, diplomacy, fortitude, and a strong voice in a fast-moving environment.

Key Qualifications

Minimum of 15-20 years relevant experience in a creative or marketing organization
Experience managing teams of at least 5-10 direct reports
Experience in a very senior Creative Services or Resource Management role within a large-scale, multi-national organization
Extensive knowledge of resource requirements across disciplines, including interactive, creative, video and design
Strong ability to adapt and adjust resource across new disciplines given the changing communications landscape
Experience managing recruiting activity to support rapidly changing needs
Experience working in a dynamic and fluid environment
Solid understanding of all aspects of creative process across all disciplines; able to understand complex project requirements, understand briefs, and recognize potential risks and dependencies relevant to resourcing work
Excellent communication and people management skills
Thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and works well under pressure
Excellent analytical skills
Experience managing a community of agency partners and freelancers
Knowledge of forecasting and budget management

Description

Manage team of Resource Managers who develop resource solutions for projects in a timely and effective manner
Partner with Procurement to ensure adequate vendor and freelance support
Ensure that talent fit and skill sets are applied to project needs and workload balance to ensure creative yet efficient execution of all projects
Balance workload across internal teams and agency / vendor partners
Partner with senior Producer community to understand strategic priorities and determine current and future resource requirements
Leverage resources in other Apple offices globally, and make recommendations for rotational opportunities in 13 international markets
Resolve potential resource conflicts; escalate if warranted for immediate resolution
Drive and analyze reporting on resource plans, forecasts, freelance and outsourcing costs and inform necessary adjustments
Support quarterly and fiscal year planning efforts by facilitating resource planning and coordinating budget impact with Operations. Forecast future hiring and freelance needs based on strategic priorities.
Constantly strive to improve processes and procedures and work with leadership to define new processes and tools where required

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Advanced degree and certifications in applicable fields a plus.
