The Tax Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Company’s domestic tax compliance that includes federal and state income tax, transfer pricing analysis, property tax, sales/use tax, and unclaimed property filings; and ensuring that all tax returns, reports, and supporting documents are complete, accurate, and are submitted on a timely manner. This candidate is also responsible for working and coordinating with internal accountants, management, and outside professional consultants that are involved in all aspects of tax compliance, including transfer pricing. The successful candidate must have strong project management, organizational and people skills. This position reports directly to V.P. Finance & Corporate Controller and supervises one Senior Tax Analyst.
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage and coordinate the gathering of tax information to provide to tax consultants in the preparation of income tax provision, tax estimates, U.S. Federal and state income tax returns, and other required tax reporting.
Actively partner with cross functional groups within the company to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure that tax needs are identified, considered and communicated.
Manage the preparation of property tax, sales/use tax, unclaimed property, and other state/local filings.
Perform transfer pricing analysis and work with tax consultants in the completion of transfer pricing studies and know the intercompany activities to ensure compliance.
Able to research complex tax matters, m onitor changes in tax law and communicate the impacts to management.
Act as liaison for international tax compliance (primarily Mexico and BEPS project), in coordination with tax consultants.
Handle tax notices and manage all tax audits, working with external tax consultants as appropriate.
Prepare income tax projections for business planning and forecasting purposes, coordinating with external tax consultants as appropriate.
Lead tax process optimization and efficiency by developing and implementing changes to improve the internal processes to ensure the accuracy of tax data collection.
Act as tax liaison for the consolidated group in matters pertaining to complicated and technical tax projects.
Work on special projects as needed.

Education/Experience/Training:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field , CPA and Master's in Taxation degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years tax experience in corporate tax department and/or public accounting firm with at least 3 years of managerial experience
Experience in all aspects of taxation of a large multi-state corporation.
Experience in Income Tax Provision calculation, including FIN 48
Must be a self-starter who handles multiple projects with minimal supervision
Detail oriented; strong organizational, analytical and methodical skills with high standard of precision and presentation.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Efficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint/ Outlook) and RIA tax research. SAP experience is a plus.
