The Strategy, Planning & Operations lead will be a key member of the Global Payments, Billing and Risk business, partnering and influencing across the GPBR leadership team and our business partner/stakeholder groups to ensure the effective operation and advancement of the organization and business deliverables. This role spans responsibility for driving the planning and business cadences across the full organization, managing the shared services support for core operations processes, and will specifically focus on driving the strategic planning and cross-organizational execution for a new payments strategy. Includes partnering with finance/analytics, product and all business units in defining the key processes that facilitate forecasting, goal setting, gap reviews, and ensures timely and complete executive level business reviews and strategic presentations are delivered.
This role will play an integral part in our payments strategy, partnering with a cross functional team to help develop and champion our payments strategy as well as drive high priority projects across the team as we develop and execute on our plan. Working with teams across the globe, this role will provide hands-on leadership to help design, prioritize, and implement strategy to help payments scale; requiring a leader who can set a vision and can solve problems from 30,000 feet as well as dive deep into the details. This strategy lead role will be looked to, to articulate issues that have the largest impact on the business, deliver on qualitative and data driven analysis to propose solutions and manage overall projects.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Vision: Work closely with the payments, billing and risk leadership teams to facilitate integrated strategic planning and specifically determine how payments fits into overall eBay strategy
Execution: Help to identify what we should do when, what success looks like and ensure on time and quality delivery. Defines and leads a rigorous business planning and management process and cadence for the organization
Thought Leadership: Understand the payments landscape globally and partner with regional business leads to understand their market and business needs to define a focused strategy and align priorities
Organizational Effectiveness: Leads out on organization engagement and change initiatives ensuring process effectiveness, skill capabilities and communications activities are aligned. Identify operational and structural weaknesses and help improve existing or develop new processes to keep our teams as efficient as possible
Builder: You will not only conceive of new initiatives, but will play a leadership role in driving the execution
Build Relationships: Interface with other functional areas to ensure we are bringing all available tools to bear on our toughest problems
Lead by example: Be incredibly truth-seeking with data, set a high bar for the team to think boldly and creatively and then to funnel that energy into concrete processes and execution plans, move fast, be biased toward action
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
15+ years of investment banking / consulting / business intelligence / strategy or related experience plus high-growth operations or startup experience
Exceptional communication and organization skills
Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength
Self starter - investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role.
