You will be responsible for defining a strategic narrative for Lightning, delivered to sales, service, marketing and IT audiences. You will live the customer journey and help inform and retell the magic of how Lightning has helped companies transform. You will align customer storytelling to position against the competition. Successful candidates will have a passion for taking the complex and making it simple and for marketing through compelling stories.
This Product Marketing [Senior] Director will be responsible for inspiring Salesforce customers to make the switch to Lightning. This role will work across different functions and teams to drive awareness in the market, and introduce existing customers to Lightning capabilities that will supercharge their business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own the Lightning strategy to drive awareness and adoption for business users in Sales, Service and Marketing.
Partner with Admin and Developer Marketing, to ensure a unified communications approach to customers.
Tell the Lightning story to sales, service, and IT teams. Work across product marketing teams to ensure that the Lightning narrative is a part of their messaging and campaigns.
Work with the industry-leading campaigns team to drive Lightning awareness for prospects and customers.
Work with our customer marketing team to capture Lightning stories from customers of all sizes & industries.
Engage our customer and partner community to amplify the Lightning message, and build a community of Lightning heroes, from business users to amazing admins to CEOs.
Develop innovative and compelling content that excites, engages customers. This includes: thought leadership content, webinars, data sheets, solution guides, and more.
Events take attendees from inspiration to perspiration. Manage the Lightning presence at every Salesforce World Tour and Dreamforce. Find new ways to paint the Lightning vision and celebrate heroes.
Work with product management to create and own a cross-cloud, customer-facing Lightning Roadmap. Own the roadmap on the website, deliver content to customers.
Create compelling and easy to understand internally facing content including sales training, competitive positioning, FAQs, and cheat sheets.
Presentations: Confidently deliver presentations to audiences of all sizes ( from one person to thousands of people).

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
10+ years experience in product marketing
Experience and passion for managing and growing teams
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
High energy, charismatic, innovative, creative
Creative thinker that can generate innovative marketing ideas.
Demonstrated ability in managing cross-functional initiatives and aligning stakeholders from across teams.
Strong communication and writing skills, public speaking and presentation skills
Experience with enterprise applications and SAAS, PAAS a plus
Proven track record of speaking in front of large internal, external, and global audiences.
Proven track record of crafting compelling positioning and thought leadership content.
Experience working with direct distribution (sales) teams and channel partners.
Hands-on ability to create a range of marketing assets: from viral on-message product demo videos and succinct slide pitch-decks.
Proven track record in performing well in a fast paced environment
Organizational skills to effectively manage competing projects with tight deadlines
MBA a plus (but we also love brilliant people who didn't go to business school)
Exceptional team player with proven ability to lead through influence
