The Microsoft IT Global Hosting and Integration team is a new team focused on the Global procurement and deployment of large scale compute and storage solutions in Microsoft IT occupied data centers worldwide and we are looking for an experienced Operations Program Manager to drive and manage delivery of critical infrastructure programs in support of the overall Microsoft IT capacity demand signal, data center expansions projects & optimization strategies.
• These include the planning, designing, scoping, managing and delivery of deployments into data centers worldwide.
• Set and execute on the service strategy, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and service delivery.
• Developing, implementing and reporting on service improvement programs such as service management, deployment scheduling, alignment, deployment incident & problem management and change control.
• Working closely with teams across Microsoft IT’s,
Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (MCIO), internal clients, and external customers, Solution Delivery teams, IT engineering teams and IT architecture teams to define deployment project and program best practices, identify and develop critical relationships across the organizations listed above including the development of cross team OLA’s, drive customer/client SLA’s & feedback, develop and deliver on the deployment roadmap and integrate with capacity management planning and design to ensure delivery of planned compute and storage capacity.
• You will also be expected to drive and improve our program management, service management, and delivery processes, procedures and communications, building a strong customer centric delivery model.
• This includes delivering effective presentations and clearly developing and articulating your strategies and their alignment with business initiatives.
• The presentations will include conducting service reviews with leadership to ensure appropriate level of visibility across service strategies, projects, and metrics.
• Manage and develop key aspects of the Microsoft IT business, collecting business requirements for service enhancements or new service creation.
Qualifications include
• Excellent Operations Program Management skills gained in a large scale operations/data center environment with a proven history of achieving goals without direct authority and working across teams.
• Experience with managing and maintaining IT security processes and procedures.
• Excellent design skills, critical thinking and good understanding of complex infrastructure environments Strong technical platform skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technology
• Previous work experience in process development and service Improvement with a strong understanding of service management and ITIL methodologies
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 5+ years experience of operations program management driving either deployments or releases into large scale data center environments
