The Ad Sales Finance Manager for NBC Sports Group Digital Media will be responsible for core ad sales finance processes for NBC Sports Group’s digital media properties (NBCSports, NBCOlympics, GolfChannel, Rotoworld) and will have significant exposure to revenue-related finance/pricing for this growing and dynamic business.
Execution of key ad sales finance responsibilities:
Revenue forecasting (Budget, Long Range Plan, Estimates)
Key metrics tracking/analysis (pricing, traffic performance, sell-thru, etc.)
Pacing and variance explanations against targets
Own core ad sales functions for NBC Sports Group Digital Media - including all platforms Mobile, Social, Connected TV, and Video-On-Demand ad sales
Work with Sales team to ensure that sales data is financially accurate
Coordinate with Manager of ad sales finance/invoicing to ensure that billing, revenue recognition and sales pacing are aligned, billing adjustments/barter agreements/revenue shares are managed correctly, etc.
Own revenue close # for digital media ad sales ... interact with the sales, site, and finance operating teams at each individual web property
Support Digital Media Planning, Strategy and Sales Leadership by providing business and financial trending analytics that help inform business decisions and growth strategies
Work with Director, Ad Sales Finance to develop improved digital media ad sales analytics and processes
Improve depth of existing reporting to provide better analytical tools for both Finance and Sales teams
Leverage best practices between Digital Ad Sales groups to develop consistent processes
Strengthen cross-functional relationships with business teams
Represent Ad Sales Finance on key internal initiatives (ie: systems enhancements, research/measurement changes, etc.)
Develop expertise in digital ad market trends, growth, and competition
Work with Digital Media Planning/Pricing and Sales Leadership in core Sales Functions:
Inventory/Capacity Utilization and Analysis
Pricing analyses
Client and category mix, targets and analysis
Development of sales strategy
Qualifications/Requirements
BA/BS 4-year degree in business, accounting or finance; MBA/advanced degree a plus
4+ years of finance experience
