Executive Director Sales Storyful New York

The Exec Director of Sales role reports directly to the CRO and is responsible for developing new business and managing a sales budget comprised of selling our suite of content marketing solutions to CMOs, Chief Creative Officers, Chief Content Officers, Digital Strategists, Social Teams and Content Strategists, Production Teams, and Brand Managers at Advertising Agencies and direct to Brands. We are looking for a dynamic sales entrepreneur who is client focused with a passion for digital marketing and an in-depth knowledge of the UGC, digital video, social advertising, and branded content / content marketing ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of building a book of business from the ground-up as well as executing against a client list that includes Fortune 1000 brands and advertising agencies. Above all else, we are looking for someone that is fascinated with tip-of-the-spear content marketing and a partner enthusiastic about the prospect of building a high-growth business.
Responsibilities

To be a thought leader on the topics of digital marketing/advertising, user generated content and social media
Actively participating in the building of sales products based on client needs
Prospecting, pitching and closing sales
High volume of sales prospecting, cold calling and sales outreach
Client account management
Work with c-level digital and content marketers to sell Storyful’s SaaS offerings as part of a new and exciting content marketing vision
Presenting the Storyful brand and product offerings in front of client marketers as well as agency teams
Consistently meet and exceed sales targets
Provide management with weekly client updates and accurate sales forecasting
Open doors with key decision makers at clients and agencies
Bring an entrepreneurial spirit that adds to the culture of a start-up (Storyful), but also an ability to think of the broader context of how business can be expanded within the larger organization (News Corporation)

Skills and Experience Required

7+ Years experience in a revenue-focused sales role within the digital marketing/advertising or social software industry
Leadership skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
Proven to thrive in a start-up environment
Proven record of prospecting, growing and managing revenue
Expertise in the digital marketing ecosystem, including but not limited to UGC, video, brand content, and social
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required
Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, the Google tool-set and other cloud based business tools
An expansive network of client and agency connections
Experience using a CRM system
Strategic Solutions Seller with a Consultative Style
Expert networking abilities
Ability to build an extensive list of prospects
Exceptional business writing skills
Travel required – up to 20%
